Will this speed controller work for my needs?

I found another thread regarding this same subject and posted my question in that existing thread, but nobody replied to my question, so I'm posting it here.

I've got 2 different in-line fans :

2) http://www.amazon.com/Vortex-Inline-Fan-10in-790CFM/dp/B004TJFO5O

I was wondering if this speed controller would work on either of these fans (should the need arise for me to swap it out between fans), once at a time of course.

What speed controller? Any speed controller will work as long as it has a plug and knob.

Any will work but a cheap one will make the fan motor him, and possibly hurt the motor.

A variac is the type of controller that you really want for that fan.

I apologize....in my haste, I forgot to mention the type of controller I was looking at buying (because it was already listed in the existing thread).

The link you provided "a senile fungus" is the exact model I was considering. So I guess that's a good model then.
