Thanks LG!!
They do seem pretty bulky for this stage. I just looked up the strain to check and the suggested indoor flowering range is 55-65 days.
I have not looked at them under the scope yet.
I have added a bunch of red LED light to the bloom stage, and I am wondering if that is having a positive effect.
I am pleased with how this one looks so far.

This is the Durban Poison.

Nice 'n fat! Are you using far reds? I had one of those initiator pucks running for flower, not sure if it made any difference. My new lights have uva and uvb so I likely won't run it anymore.

that hermie is a bummer. does it look like there's much seed in the good plant?

Hey LG,
So far I can not find any seeds on the remaining healthy plant. Who'd a thunk it, right??? We'll see come harvest time.
As far as the red LEDs go, I don't know the specific wavelength.
These are lights that a friend let me try. They are the 'plurple' type of light, but have a veg, and a bloom setting. I am using them in the bloom only setting, which is only the red LEDs. I will take some pics when I get home to give you a better idea.

Cheers,

It certainly does, Willie.
Too bad you had to get rid of 1 plant.
I am looking at it as an opportunity to improve my system.
I will run individual reservoirs from now on, which I believe will help out moving forward.
I just visited the three clones that I gave my friend, and they all look great. He said they are heavy nitrogen users, and I was unable to provide that for my plant with the common reservoir. I would have burned the other plant up.

That's awesome! I had one go hermie last grow and the entire crop was full of seed.

Just out of curiosity, I brought out the scope and had a look last night.

Hey all,
I'm really pleased with how the one remaining plant is finishing out.
These pics were taken yesterday, Day 57 since flip to 12/12.
IMG_6872.JPG IMG_6871.JPG IMG_6860.JPG

I thinking this coming weekend, but we'll see what she looks like by then.

The plant for the next round is really coming along well also. I hope to get her transferred to her real home this weekend as well.
She has done really well in the little 'clone bucket' that I use to start them out in, but I think its past time for her to move on. I FIM'd her a few days ago, and she is really bushing up.

That's all for now.
Stay safe guys and gals,

What Up All??
Day 61 from flip to 12/12

IMG_6900.JPG IMG_6901.JPG
And some trichome shots...

IMG_6904.JPG IMG_6905.JPG IMG_6906.JPG IMG_6907.JPG
I was hoping for this weekend to be able to chop, but it's already Thursday evening.
It seems to me that this weekend would be a bit early.
If anyone has any input on the topic, I'm all ears.
@Laughing Grass @Dr.Amber Trichome @TintEastwood

The plant for the next round is 35 days old, so I dropped another bean last night.
This is the Great Ape strain.

I had intended to do 2 plants in Veg the same age, and be able to move them to the flower tent as a pair.
I now am thinking that I will try to have 4 plants going at the same time but at different stages.
The youngest plant at 1/2 vegged, next oldest would be fully vegged, the next oldest would be 1/2 flowered, and the oldest would be fully flowered, ready to harvest. The plants would be all in separate totes, and each have there own reservoir. If this system works I will be able to harvest a new variety approximately every 35-40 days, that's based on a 10 day seedling stage, a 60 day veg stage and a 70 day bloom stage. It works on paper, but we will have to see if it works in real life. Hope so.

Stay Safe,
WillieP

Wow Willie those are so chunky, you've done such a great job and you're so close. If it were me, I'd let them go another week, there's still quite a few clear trichomes, especially in the fourth pic.

A staggered harvest would be nice for trimming. Can you manage the different heights with your lights?

Hey LG,
Thanks for the reply, always good to hear from you.
I agree...one more week...(those are the longest 7 days, it would appear! LOL)

As far as plant heights go, in Veg it wont be a problem at all, I have 3 individual 150 watt 5K LED's that I can adjust. Then when we get to the flower tent they will both be in Scrog so the height should be pretty close I'm hoping. Good question though.
My existing flower light is approximately 2 ft. by 4 ft., I do think if I would upgrade (which of course I would like to) I would like to build 2 lights that are 2 ft. by 2 ft., and I think I would go with all strip lights.

Hope all is well in your world!

It's gonna be worth the wait. I would love to have a crop that looked like that!

That's perfect then. Trimming four plants in one shot is such a pain in the ass and it would be nice to have them all be a couple weeks apart.

I'm doing great thanks and hope you are too. I've got my grow fired up again and it's cruising along. I'll take some pics this weekend and get my journal going.

So today I moved the Durban Poison strain plant from the 'clone bucket' to it's permanent home in a five gallon tote that I use to E & F in.
I waited WAY TO LONG to get this plant moved over. It's just that is was doing so well and I didn't see any harm in it.
The roots were one solid column that I could barely get out the 2 inch hole in the top of the bucket.

IMG_6925.JPG
The next issue was trying to get them to conform to the 2 gallon fabric pot that I fill with clay balls. The roots had grown together so much that they didn't want to bend around in the pot. But with a little effort, and some cussing myself, I eventually did win.
IMG_6926.JPG
IMG_6930.JPG
I don't think that there will be any issues with the plant, it may take a bit to grow out the roots to fill up the bottom of the tote, but I don't see it as a huge issue.
I will not let a plant go this long in the 'clone bucket' just because of the difficulty transplanting it.

I am also changing over to a new nutrient formula, same nutes, just a different mix. (I use dry nutes)
Thanks go out to @TintEastwood for the solid he did me with providing the spreadsheet to be able to see exactly what is what when changing around you nutes. Thanks again for that.

That's all for now.

What UP all???
Today the ax fell on the Gorilla CBD plant. Day 71 from flip to 12/12.

IMG_6972.JPG IMG_6973.JPG IMG_6974.JPG
I used a different harvest method, and will follow up this how this goes...
These are just a couple of shots while it was coming down...

IMG_6991.JPG IMG_6992.JPG

Of course to early to tell what kind of weight that there will be, but I can tell you that it will be more than the last harvest. (per plant)
These buds are much larger and much more dense. Time will tell...

Stay Safe,

Hey all,
So I moved the Durban Poison plant to it's E & F home 9 days ago.
She has stalled out badly, I knew it was a nutrient issue, although I thought transplant shock was also playing a role.
The color is just all wrong, very light green/yellow, starting at the top of the plant.
With the Masterblend that I have been using there is a high 'K' value, and no way to lower it.
Apparently I was able to get through the last couple of grows OK with it, but this strain must be more susceptible to high Potassium.
I have just today received a new dry nutrient, Jack's 5-12-26, (where Masterblend is a 4-18-38), and have done a reservoir change.
Hopefully this will get the plant back on track.

Poor girl is pretty sad...
IMG_6946.JPG
I also moved the Great Ape seedling to the 'clone bucket', hoping the it will take to it's temporary home well.
Just before the move...

Happy Growing,

Just an update on the Durban Poison plant...
Started with a Jack's 5-12-26 on Monday, and can see a notable improvement in just 4 days.

IMG_7010.JPG
I can see the darker green starting to return, and she is starting to uptake nutrients, I have already needed to increase the PPM a bit, (although I did want to start out gentle)
Keep on keeping on,

Hey Boys and Girls,
I just did a reservoir change on the Durban Poison plant.
As mentioned I wanted to kind of start out gentle, 444 PPM - 9 days ago, I've needed to add more nutrients once. She had drank it down to 407 PPM and I raised it back to 490. Tonight is was back down to 405, so this time we went a bit stronger, 620 PPM.
I take reading every day, so I will see if that is high enough or we need to go higher still.

I did some minor trimming of the really low stuff, and I am working on getting her spread out.
She's starting to take shape.

IMG_7038.JPG

And the Grape Ape seedling is coming along as well.

IMG_7039.JPG

I nearly forgot...
I have the Gorilla CBD dried down to 64-62% and jarred.
She weighed in at 11.5 Oz.
I harvested two plants off of my first ever grow at 6 Oz. each, so to nearly double the weight per plant on my second grow made me pretty happy.
The buds were of a much higher quality also.
Still not cured out of course, and it's not like we actually smoke, so I'll have to wait a while and rely on friends for the smoke report.

Stay safe out there Kids,
WillieP
