Windowsill Grow Week 3

The board says grown under the sun so I figured I should post this here,

I'm just looking for some advice and input from experienced growers on how well they're doing,

Also, what's the next step? When should I be feeding them with nutrients, re-potting,

and as well as this, should I be trimming/topping them any time soon?

Thanks in advance..

Will topping them keep them shorter and increase yield?

Also, any idea on where to cut them?

topping will give you more main colas...it should up your yield....
they look like they could use some nitrogen...or just transplant them into good soil

they look just a bit droopy are you over watering?

I could be overwatering them, I usually wait until the top few centimetres have dried out, then water. Is that too much? How often should I water them at this stage?

I should be able to buy some nitrogen on Thursday, and will be transplanting them at the same time, I can only really use normal compost though. Will mixing the soil with perlite bring any benefit?

When should I top them?

Let the soil dry out more before you water again. Grab some 2 or 3 gallon pots for your upgrade. When you mix up your new soil for the pots I would add some perlite along with your soil. Also if you can pick up some blood meal, bone meal, and peat moss and mix that all in for a nice soil mixture.

Well since they are in a windowsill they will not dry very fast...you would do better to pot them in a mostly perlite mix, or some coco...that way they dry out more often...it is boring not getting to water for weeks on end, but with no fan, and no real intense light that is just going to be the way of it...you might have to water once every week - 10 days...anymore will probably be too much...until you can add some perlite or whatever you choose to do.

How much space do you have on that windowsill? How much sunlight a day is it getting?

Any chance of getting it outside eventually?

Not a huge amount, should be ok for now though at least. It's a huge south facing window and I live on a south facing hill so it gets as much sunlight as a window is possible to get pretty much.

I plan to move them outside if I run out of space or they need more sunlight, trouble is I live in the UK so the weather's not great, especially with rain etc. Purple power is supposed to be good in temperate climates though so it should be good ^.^

it's not ideal though because the outdoor space that I do have is quite open and I don't really want them to be seen...

The windowsill will only work for so long unless it is one hell of a windowsill. 3 gal pots take up a lot of room, and you are going to have to constantly rotate those babies. If you can get them outside or under some good lights you are going to be much happier with the end result. That being said, my first grow was in a windowsill, but after they were about a foot tall, I transplanted outside.

you could "back" the plants....like they do in vertical growing...then you wont have to spin them...
ehh?
