Winter grow in the balcony, is it possible ?

Hi there guys :) I always thought it wasn't possible so I've never tried but I'm starting to think about this "experiment" and soon I'll get some seeds, put them in jiffy pellets and try to grow them in the balcony.

The problems right now I guess are the temperature and the hours of light but I would like to give it a try anyway.

Does anybody think this is possible ?

Maybe somebody even has some advice to overcome some possible issues ?

Temperature is going to be a big problem depending on where your at. If it gets below 50-55 degrees your plants will have very slow growth or not grow at all.

Well, i do believe that it will get colder than 50ºF but still have to check the thermometer for the next few days to see how cold it gets outside. Hopefully it won't get below 0ºC / 32ºF.

well, I've grown plants 12/12 from seed and they do fine and even if I haven't got much information about it, I read about some strains being grown at the tops of mountains and getting purple or blue because of the low temperatures at night. So that made me think that it may be possible to grow something during winter with low temps.
