WIP Grow Log First Grow BagSeed

Hey guys new to the forum been smoking for about a year year now got lazy tried of driving or what ever to get some weak shit some times good...

but a week ago i decided i wanted to start growing my own plants as a project and for fun well im starting now


i got most of my supplys

the Fox Farm Trio i didn't get the soil yet but the 3 starter nutes were 45$ at the store i went to ill be getting the soil when im ready to grow going with ocean forest threw the entire grow

i got 4 3 gallon buckets with drain holes and some trays bought some pvp made a 5ft tall 2ft wide box and covering it in Panda Film only costed me about 22$

now the lights and attachments... were pretty damn cheap picked up 12 23w 2300k fluorescents and 12 27w 5000K daylight fluorescents <<<< I HOPE 5000k is ok i know 6500k is best but no store had them for a reasonable price... all in all connectors bulbs etc costed around 38$

I all so got a temp and humidity thing 10$ cheap seems to work all right reads temps ok tested it quite a bit next to my accurate house temp reader i got a 4 in 1 mini soil PH moist light and nutes reader for 10$

there not hot when your close to them but when i touched them they all most burned me...

its going to be a closet build ive never really grown anything ive been reading alot and i think i got it but i hope you guys will help me out give me some advice

ill update with pictures

but next up gonna finish that box pop it in the closet and set up the lights and everything


my plan so far is having 12 daylights and 6 soft whites for the veg going 20/4 then switching it up to 12 soft whites and 6 Daylights hopefully if i can find another surge protector that will match and fit perfectly so i can do the 12 and 6 bulb if not i gotta do 6 and 3

the lights should push out around 30k lumens in the veg stage and will hit around 29.7k in the flowering stage

gonna go with 6 plants i think gonna germinate the seeds then put them in rock wool and grow them out till i see roots then pick four strongest best looking and right into 3 gallon buckets with ocean forest and just water for 3 weeks then start slowly giving it nutes


well guys what do you think? any suggestions? or advice?

Sounds pretty good so far. A couple thoughts...

Yes, contrary to popular belief CFL's do get hot. Hot enough to burn your plants, and hot enough to really raise the temp in your grow room if you're using enough of them. And you are. I veg with CFL's also. Keep the lights within two inches of your plants for best results, but this means you'll have to check them twice a day - you would be suprised how often a good growth spurt will put them right up into the lights otherwise.

This also means you're going to have to think about ventillation. You don't have any fans on your list? You'll need at least one oscillating fan, for air movement and to help the stems grow strong. Don't blow it right at them - just close enough to make them kind of "shiver". You'll also have to figure out a way to pull in fresh air, and exhaust the hot.

I don't recommend pulling your smaller seedlings. Males often times thrive quicker than females. Not always, but often. If space is an issue, go ahead and buy some feminized seeds - there are cheap enough strains out there, you should be able to find an economical one. Buy from The Attitude - you'll get a five pack, plus one free - six seeds. (If you do - use 420 in the discount code box, for 10% off). Then you know you're growing all girls and not wasting space and resources on a male.

All in all, I think you're off to a good start. It sounds like you've done the most important part already - researched!

about the fan im thinking about putting two PC fans inside the box circulating the air then when i check up on the plant ill have a fan/cooler/ionizer on the outside of the box in the closet ill all ways have to running to keep the closet cool and when ever i open the grow box it will get fresh air from my fan from the room



i wanna grow bagseed cause its my first time i wanna get EVERYTHING down ph levels nutes water lighting temps humity everything

wanna make all my mistakes and learn some new stuff then once ive grown them and got everything down

then ill be ready to buy some seeds and really work on them by then ill have more cash to make the grow room bigger and too get better lights and more advance nutes

I applaud you for starting with bag seed. a lot of others on here just order
the most expensive seeds they can find and have no clue whats going on.
Heck sometimes ppl who know exactly what they are doing have accidents lol.
Sometimes it's a real waste.

yeah i want this to be worth every penny ive spent about 130$ total on everything

lights nutes etc after soil and stuff its gonna be around 150$


so once i got more money and i have some practice under my belt ill be ready to buy some goood seeds have some better light for them and maybe some better nutes





Update got the box all most finished lights are read and hanging the place i go to ran out of ocean forest..... they will have some monday ill start germinating prob tonight maybe

im taking all the pictures with my phone for right now ill bust out the HD camera when i get to growing

damn i finished the grow box all sealed and velcro to open and close the door but holy shit its hot as fuck in that box 10 minutes it hit 85f

im gonna try and get some fans in there once i find some i got a ionizer/fan cooler thats going to be in there running 24/7

this is winter too i don't know whats gonna happen when its summer guess ill have to keep my AC unit on full blast and leave the closet door open in the light stages



UPDATE got some a fan in the box and the other fan going outside of the box seems to be working pretty good between 73-77

UPDATE again need some advice guys its 100F now in the box... after i closed it and shut the closet for a few minutes humity dropped to 20% any advice on what i should do to drop the temps and higher humity

i just put the seeds for germination in the other room where its warm and dark took two peice of paper towel and moistend them up and put it in a zip lock bag i need to get this temp problem solved in a day or so..

UPDATE going to the store tommorrow going to try and find a cheap humidifier sucks balls lowest i can get the temps are like 73-78f with the closet door open and fans blowing in the growbox


UPDATE well i sorta fixed the heat problem for now its between 78-85f now better then 100f i put that green fan i had at the top turned it around cut a hole in the top sealed it and now i have a exhaust works good but the closet is starting to get warm now.. and the humidity is still very low ive tryed pan of water cups of water damp rag nothing does it stays the same

20% in the box 30%-35% in the closet and i made the box and the closet light proof so maybe i can have the front open all the time and keep the closet closed that should solve the heat problem and raise humidity a little bit

come on no one has a good easy way to get some humidity in that box?

Put a bucket of water in there, or some bowls, cups, whatever you have. You could also hang some damp towels in there, as well.

thats a nice mess of CFLS. best one ive seen in a while. good looking start should be a very nice grow. goodluck to you.

well last effort going in the morning to grab a humidier and maybe a fan and a timer then i got the temps to stay at 82-85f in the grow box and 78-80f in the closet i think im good with that


i filled a five gallon bucket put a bowl and cup of water on top near exhaust and five gallon bucket at the bottom near the fan humidity went up to 23% hope fully the humidifier will work


update two seeds have sprouted i put about 10 or 13 seeds to germinate so far only 2 have poped getting soil and everything else i need today and gonna start

Well all the humidifiers i found all sucked dick and got water everywhere so im just gonna leave a few bowls and a 5 gallon bucket of water in there so far the humidity has gone up to around 36% now without the lights on


i had to put everything else on hold today gotta get soil and everything else tomorrow and there going in there pots tomorrow night

i got everything so im all set and ready to go i got perfect water PH is between 5.9-6.5 perfecto with no additives gotta test the soil in a bit



wow im really surprised all of them have cracked and are sprouting lol


this is all bag seed sweet maybe they will all grow healthy D: then what am i gonna do with 12 plants!


Soil Tested pH of between 6.2-6.5 run off water is the same moister pasted and the fertility is idea perfect amount of nutes


this little 10$ tester kicks ass..

well out of 10 bagseed u might get 4 or 5 females the other will be males plus u have to account for 2 plants that will more then likely be unhealthy.. i have growen bag seed before if i where u i would clone the best female u get and take about 7 clones from it the picture of the plants was vegged with 3 23=100watt cfl 5700k color temp and flowered under 4 23=100 watt cfl 2700k color temp and that plant was bagseed

right i keep forgetting about the males *cross's fingers* well everything is perfect to nutes and ph levels all ready to go for tonight

i don't wanna get into cloning and all that right now i don't have a place to keep a mother and clones plus once i grow the bag seed im going right to some high quality seeds


well every thing is pre pared i got humidity domes cause with the lights on humidity drops near 20% i got the humidity up to 37% with the lights off fans on

its harder to grow bagseed then the good shit ... with bagseed u dont know how long flowering is or anything with the good shit u know how long flowering is it will tell u yeild and if it is easy mod or expert to grow... stick with the good strains

well buddy time to toke up and wait im making a custom CO2 bottle all so from a bird feeder and some rubber tubing thinking about just using water bottle the feeder is 10$ ... tubing is more




this was once a DIY Cold Air intake only costed 20$ NOW SHALL BE DIY CARBON FILTER <<< later on



oh shit i forgot how am i going to tell whats a male or female? cause my plan is to grow them in cups for 2-3 weeks then transfer to finally 3 gallon buckets...


and one more question uhh storing my water should i just mix nute with water everytime im going to water? or is it ok to store all my water with nutes mixed in a 20gal trash can? or will it screw up the water?

the seeds have been PLANTED 6 of them the other ones have not sprouted yet.. but 6 are under the light and getting all cozy

if u have a shity strain there will be alot of leaf in the bud. but so far so good
