If your guy is a Southern gentleman, then this doesn't apply. But if he suddenly says "ma'am" to you out of nowhere, be cautious. It's a sign that he feels like he's feeling stressed and knows he's in trouble.

This is false. I live far from the south but just like the propriety of using Yes mam and Yes sir.

It's proper, no?

Maybe I read too much Farmer Boy as a kid but there should be nothing wrong with this.

As for all the other words I would say it totally depends on that guys vocabulary. Or how often he uses those words as it is.

This Korin Miller article sounds like a simple personal observation, trying to be passed off as some psychological breakthrough

yeah the american launguage destroys more lives than cancer and car accidents combined. im going fishing now means hunny im looking for new pussy,:roll::cuss: if i dont get out to the lake before someone else does all the fishing gear isnt going to make up for walmarts frozen salmon. id rather creole my own catch and fry it up with some wine and a stogie
