So i have a small grow tent 2ftx4ft with one plant, and im currently using 150 watt hps with 200 watt cfls on each side of the plant. Its to hot in the grow tent and cant give it much more venitlation due to its location besides the fans i have in it already. So should i just use the cfls next time to keep it cooler inside? And how many cfl watts do i need for one plant to yield at least a couple ounces? And when cfls say equivalent, what are they the equivalence of? Any info on cfls will help also!!!
Wondering if I should use cfls over hps?

agree, thats fukd already. kill it and start over. figure out your exhaust, you cannot grow in a tent without exhaust, doesnt matter what lighting you use.
I have a small exhaust fan on the top my grow tent tho...

Imo buy a decent exhaust, a 200 cfm should do fine especially if you can get one with adjustable speeds OVER switching bulbs. Greater penetration and coverage from your hps. Some say it's pointless but I agree with having a couple daylight cfls mixed with my 150w hps for mixed spectrum's like the sun produces.
At first i thought WTF HE"S USING A 200W CFL ON EITHER SIDE AS WELL HE'S A MADMAN haha. More like 48w's either side don't worry about the "equivalent" wattage as you need them so close to the plants to be any use at all.
With only one plant in the tent a 150w hps will do the job nicely you don't need the extra lighting as cfl's put out quite a bit of heat regardless of how weak they are. If your temps are too high blow air directly on the bulb to keep it cooler otherwise your fans are just blowing hot air around.

it needs air or nothing will help, air blown in, air blown out. Air, air, air, air, you are smothering it. You should save up and get real exhaust fan at least, and exhaust it outside the room if possible

I know you posted this weeks ago.
Don't feel bad, I'm on my first grow, I've got 3 months tied up in my two large plants. Lol I should say larger, because they suck. The first n second pictures' the plants started out great, really rocking, then I dropped my LED panel on them and broke em. Everything that could go wrong did. Lol I'm 3 months into vegging these two and my four week old plants look much better. I put them outside today n they are loving it. I'm going to put them outside 14 hours a day for a week then 12/12 in my tent to flower. I'm using 400 watts in cfl bulb's n a 40 watt LED panel just because I bought it. Lol
