I'm in Michigan and want to grow 12 plants outdoors. I want to use 8 foot tall wood fence. How big of a area will I need to prevent too much of the sun to be blocked. I have looked everywhere and no answers

Do they sell 8 foot tall wood fence? 6 foot is what I have and is pretty standard. Also have to consider the path of the sun, it starts in the NE and curves south and then sets in the NW. How much room do you have to work with, budget, etc? I'm in Mich too.

If you're going to use it again next year and want to grow decent size plants I wouldn't go less then 50 x 50 personally but that's going to run over a grand in the cheapest 6 ' high by 8' wide wood fence and posts. Or you could get 200' of 6 foot steel wire fence and either steel T-Posts, 2 x 4's or 4 x 4's and do the same are for like $300. And any part you don't want visible home depot sells those 6' x 16' bamboo rolls for $16 each I think, and zip tie them to the steel fence. I don't know all your details but that's my thoughts on it.
