World Of Hempy

Well all my clones from the Skywalker OG rooted well and started beating at the sides of the solo cups wanting to be let out. Here are my 2 picks for next grow with a fresh FIM job. The Crazy Miss Hyde and Mango will be done in a couple of weeks and these will move to the flower tent. I sprouted a "Critical Mass 33" for the next mother. After the past year and so many weird seed deviations from famous growers like "Barney's Farm", I really like getting to know a mother plant's characteristics first then cloning it if I like it. I swear you can buy a 5 pack of fem seeds these days and 1 won't germ, 2 will be normal and 2 will have strange idiosyncrasies in their reaction to light, temperature or nutrients. Having much better luck lately and taking notes for future grows. Skywalker's got a fresh brocoli-sex smell...(don't ask LOL)....I'm hoping it gets sweeter and fruitier or at least hashier.

so before i sprout my big bud seeds i decided im gonna kill off my 30 plants, the problem just sucks too bad... i figure if i clear out everything i can get some azamax and if it happens again ill get them before there's a lot of them.
I wanted to finish the 3L run but im really gettin tired of dealin with the mites... theyre always back

I've had them that bad before where the webs keep building everyday. I did let that run finish then turned it all into hash.

Once you bleach everything down and get the next run going, I'd recommend to use a neem based product once a wk from the time they set roots till wk2 12/12. I've had much better luck using a preventive then waiting until they show up. The plants really like the neem, also it helps them with hi summer temps.

Shiva I don't know how you could even find a single seed pod in that trellised jungle. I also believe that the fuller the light spectrum the better quality bud, not necessarily bigger just better smoke.

Yeah i agree throwing a MH in there seems to make the buds stickier. I do think that running a mh during first couple weeks of 12/12 helps make tighter internodes which will often make for larger buds....now im not sure it makes any diff on yield (aside from the benefit of more wattage).

Ive been'worried this past week with the high heat and humidity with the larger colas this run though.

Larger plants with the Sand Widow definitely makes a giant difference in bud structure. Last run the biggest dry nug of SW was about the size of a quarter this run theyre actually making colas.

No pics as i havent been in my room for two days....stood up Monday night and my back locked and spasmed on me...uhg been home in bed since. Thanks the gods for muscle relaxers and copious amounts of ganja this shit hurts.

Shiva, the deep red spectrum can cause excessive stretch....maybe the blue in the MH the first two weeks is getting you the tight internodal spacing. Might be something to try for folks with low height constraints eh? Hey, sorry to hear about your back...I've been there. You might want to invest in an cheap e-stim unit...works wonders if it's a recurring thing.

Had to string up some supports for the c99 due to all the stretch /weight she's been putting on. Everything else is doing pretty good.

Nice frost there Shiva! The device I mentioned is a TENS (Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation) unit. Should be able get one for ≈$35 these days. It comes with electrode pads that you stick to areas of muscle and it provides electrical signals that stimulate the muscle. Feels great...I went through physical therapy for sciatica in the lower back with one and I liked it so much I asked for a prescription for one. My insurance paid for it too. here a link to an example...

Iss up Brah! Looks like the new room is working out great with lots more room for you...talk about a 4rth of July shot.....those colas on the right look like rockets taking off, and the buds on the left look like cherry bombs!.

sup fellas', bout to start planting the 30 x 3l hempys. few questions on how you all think i should mix up everything

the coco i grabbed is botanicare expanding "cocogro"
Espoma perlite
hydroton
1x1 rockwool starter cubes
are the things i have

anything i should get and whater some recommendations for how to mix the top of the bucket and the res?

I've heard jela about the rockwool res but he says you gotta be careful to overwater cause its a sponge-like and may suffocate roots

didnt know if i could get away with maybe like a coco/perlite mix on top of a coco/hydroton resevoir though

Nizza I do a perlite res, and a coco perlite mix about 75/25, but here my problem with it being that way, it's too light, the plants get too tall for me to be able to keep upright, they get top heavy, I'm going to try installing them in milk jugs, they have good sized bases and take up a little more room, plus they provide a place for overflow water, I was needing a way to space them out and I'm going to try this idea.

I just cut a hole in the gallon milk jug big enough for the bottle, it also provides a handle. then I can add a bamboo stick into the handle and have a way to tie them off.

this should be fine for me because the 3L are pretty sturdy and they'll be really packed together. I like the idea of not using rockwool because I wanna save up my rockwool after i use them for clones and get a good amount then use it so im not wasting it. Also I like to make the pots runoff and plan to make a runoff catcher with a draw off spigot.
I was thinking earlier of making a special hempy bottle jig that makes cutting bottles easy and precise

i also want to do some tomato cage experiments and wanna make custom ones for the 3L's.
