The outdoor is finished for me and it was a good news bad news sort of ending.

The Sativa Auto crosses finished up at the beginning of Sept, the 2 netted real close to 1/2 lb. So 4oz in a 2gal seemed good to me. Photos from the wk prior to harvest.

One pheno is very fruity, the other not so much with the early taster. Very sparse buds.

Edit: I just scraped a pan of winterized bho, and it is beyond amber it more clear and orange. I'll taste test later.

Now the bad news. The WLH (Worlds Largest Hempy) was just killing it. But 9/6 to 9/9 we had a cold spell, it got down to 36 on 9/7 the other night were 39 or less. Well it didn't really affect the plant above the pot, but being it was in the container, I believe the cold hammered the roots. They died from the bottom up. In the next 2 days I watched them suck everything they could out of the leaf. I probably only got 6oz off both. I just high graded. Most was from the Jackie-O she was still real sticky just didn't get a chance to fatten up. Photos are 9/1 to 9/10

  1. 19 days in the cloner with just tap water. Pump on 24/7 every 12 hours I would put frozen 2liter water bottles in there to keep the temps down. 48/50 dna tangie girls cloned. 96% clone rating. Im over due to put these girls into flower but my tent is full with super lemon haze in dwc. So this weekend I'll take out the tap water out of my cloner and add some r/o water along with some dutch masters veg nutes for 5 days then go hempy 2l sog.

Four ladies for sure, and I think one more is also. Only one male, C3, did what that one to be a fem because of it's strange growth pattern. Oh well, 4 out of 6 is good and possibably 5 out of 6 is a good thing, but need to find a home for two of them, only have room for 3 ladies without crowding them.

Confirmed 5 out of the 6 are females. Need home for two, calling friends today.
Now the decision is on which two of the CC/BBGA to keep. They are all nice.

If you can take a cutting from each female plant to clone and grow your girls out. Wich ever is the best smoke, producer, etc then keep those.....

I am not setup for any clones at present, hopefully soon though.

Got local buddy that does clones and he said I could get some from him, he is the one I am giving the two extra ladies too.

Day 16 of 12/12!

Just maneuvering branches and leaves. May do some light pruning at day 20, any suggestion on this are welcome. These three fill the 7.7 sq ft cabinet well. Get new light this week, going with a 400W HPS in a 6" cool tube, new 6" fan and filter. I am going to empty the old 4" charcoal filter, keep the pre-filter on it and use it as a pre-filter before the cabinet. This old carpet, in the room I am pulling the air from, produces too much dust and blocks the little pre-filter i have on there now, only 12 sq in of pre-filter. New pre-filter will be 240 sq in of surface area. Should keep most dust out and not have to be changed every few days like I do now.
All are 18 to 20 inches tall from the soil line.

C5 left front, C3 right front, and WW in the back.

Today I installed the new Cool Tube/400W HPS and new 6" Phresh filter. I did not install the new 6" fan, wanted to see how my old 4 inch fan will work with the new setup. I am pulling air into the cabinet via a 4' line the 6" filter is attached to the 6" cool tube the stepped down from the 6" cool tube to the 4" fan and the air exits the cabinet via a 4 inch duct.
I may at some point install the 6" fan but it is noisy and so far the 4" is keeping the cabinet at 81 degrees and 51% humidity, and that is better than it was doing with the big LED.

I am 20 days into 12/12 so curious to see how the new light effect the grow. It puts out a massive amount of light, and I have it at about 12 inches above the top of the canopy. The temperture at the top of the canopy is 83, heck I think I can get the light closer. Any opinions on the height I should have the light from the plants. Going to research it tonight.

Peace out,

As far as a 400W without heat issues you can get to 6". But more important is the footprint of the light in your cabinet. Make sure the light edge from the hood is several inches past the edge of the plants. The outside 20% of the footprint from most hoods have a noticeable difference lumen strength. And sorry to say but the tubes are significant in this edge reduction, but keeping your tube up a bit like you have it will get you better saturation on top, and I saw the reflective wall which will give back alot of the edge light.

To me it looks like you're going to over pack that cabinet, but that's not the worst problem to have.

Thanks Watt,
Yes the setup is just perfect for the light, at the height I have it it totally covers the box and I think I am getting good penetration. The cabinet is lined with Mylar, cept for one small space. I have three plants in a just under 8 sqft., so over 2.5' per plant. tight but not over crowded, I do not think. I know I could get better looking buds at two plants per grow, but I only grow two times a yr and that is my meds for the yr. Am getting about 5 zips per grow and that is enough for me. I know I could get more out of the box if I wanted but no need at present.

Peace out,

GR

BTW, I just love the conversation on here, helps keep me sane, LOL.

Gr865 what's the cfm rating on your 4" vs 6"?
Sky,
The 4" is a Wind Tunnel and pulls 200 + cfm
The 6" is a Maxi Pro Series, three speed, 225 to 440.

I may hook up the 6" and see how it does, but damn it is noisy. The 4" seems to be working fine for the cabinet.
Suggestions as always welcome.

Update: Day 26 of 12/12
All is well, except I split the WW, at the main split of the manifold. Taped it up, was a tuff task. We will see what happens of the next week. It is amazing that the amount of H2O/nutes the different plants uptake. The WW drinks the least, and C3 the most. I have been draining what remains in the reservoir before I fill with fresh H20/nutes. Watering at least daily.

Looking at another 3 weeks, give or take a few days.

Real bummer gr to have a split that far down, especially nearing the 1/2 way into flower when the plant has already changed it's priority from growth to sex. But I've seen these plants recover many times before.
