This, is my first round using around 800PPM constantly. I run 50/50 coco/perlite now, and was still doing the full feed, water, water thing like I was in peat. I guess, if you spread your 3 gallon plant out a bit, I'm not doing too badly for week 5. I think I'm way under you guys' wattage, though. This particular tent has a HPS 150w and two Blackstar 135 W UFOs. I vegged in here too, which I wouldn't normally do.

(Week 6 now, but this was taken at week 5) WOS - Strawberry Blue - forgive the sloppy digital altering on the right...had to remove some identifiable things.

Now, I have some questions for the gang. I am starting to get some rust spots. If this was due to lockout, I'd have curling and burning first, right? The only areas that are looking dry and curled is where those spots have gone necrotic. (humidity has been REALLY LOW too - been really cold, and I have electric heat). I haven't found ANYONE running the Technaflora line of nutrients. Their supplement for Mg/Cal is MagiCal. I have been using 2ml per gallon (which is on their lower side...they suggest 2-4ml on their label. I have never used more than 2ml per gallon on anything, but recently started using 3 on this particular plant. The spots aren't progressing - YET. This is the first SINGLE plant I've had at this size, and I was wondering if between weeks 6 and 9, upping the Mg/Cal is common, and if 3-4ml per gallon seemed excessive to you folks late in flowering. I've still got new bud growth happening, which has been absent in the past when I've had a lockout.

your grow looks impressive especially for 5 weeks...I know nothing about scrog/sog, so I can't provide any feedback other than to say they look really nice.

Actually I think that those answers are telling....

...either you have genetics that want to make beach balls,
or you can conclude that you are pretty much on-track
given the size and structure of that fucking beautiful plant. :0)

Now, this is part of what makes your question so interesting to me.

I have also seen this effect. .....almost always my internal
urge to give-em-a-bit-more but not quite always.

There is also being toward the end of the flowering cycle
to consider as well. I have had plants done, with changed
colors, at seven weeks.

LOL....this all being said, you would have to go to a hydro-head
for a better answer....they are the ones who have to worry
about the level of every nute, ppms, and such.

I am using a dropper bottle and test tube now, and that is
an advancement.

The only work is building the screens, really. Otherwise, it's just tucking branches for a few weeks.

That's why I wanted to see if everyone thought the amount of MagiCal was ridiculous. My water isn't completely devoid of both, either. I think I will go until I hit the max on the label, if I have to, and worst case scenario is that she teaches me a lesson. Would 4 ml per gallon be unheard of for an overly demanding plant with CalMag? I'm also watering every other day. I expect to have to go every day with this one in another week or so.

Just a weekly up date, all is well, plants are healthy.
Day 21 of 12/12
Two Mr NIce Black Widows
Two gallon 65/35 Perlite/Coco Hempys, grown Mainline or Manifold style.
GH Flora series using Heads modified Lucas formula for Coco.
Start flower at 9 inchs and the plants are at 27" and that is doing some LST to even out the height.

No, I was using the beach ball reference for the approximate size
to suggest that if those buds are at all unhealthy, then they'd be the
size of beach balls if they were healthy.

With my water I use 5ml/gal Bontanicare Cal/Mag, when using perlite it's just 1ml/gal. Coco loves to absorb free cal. I've gone as high as 8ml/gal in coco with a heavy feeding plant.

With my water and Perltie/coco I was using 5ml GH Cal/mag and 5ml silica, I am now using 3ml Cal/Mag and 5ml silica.

Interesting that the mediums make that big of difference....I use 1ml/litre or 4ml/gal, and I grow typically in 3:1 perlite/vermiculite.

Of course our water is not the same, but I'm wondering if I'm using too much..., I know what happens if I don't use it, but what are the signs of too much cal-mag?

LOL, hell I don't know, I grow in coco, don't think there is to much.bongsmilie
When I did perlite I did 3ml per gal.

A large overdose of cal/mag will throw the whole plant into sever shock. Looks alot like a sever ph lockout.
I did it once by over pre-charging a brick of coco, at 30ml/gal and then didn't rinse it. The day after the transplant they looked like they were going to die. They recovered after some heavy flushing. Made me wish I had a drain plug in the buckets.
