The top (coco) will have to remain at least 50% moist.New to these buckets. I was thinking about running a feeding hose directly to the reservoir. Once the roots hit the water, the top doesn't need to be moist, and I can just exchange the nutes correct via the tube, correct? The top medium I'm using is a coco/perlite mix.
So I'm just better off top watering like I normally would then? Should I be watering every other day or so to keep it moist? The top (coco) will have to remain at least 50% moist.

First time. I use to grow about twenty years ago, but never with cocoYes, how long have you been using coco?
I went with hempy's to reduce maintenance. Is ec/fertigation fluctuation exclusive to coco? Do all other top mediums need to be kept moist as well? This is a great article about growing with coco. Must Read. https://www.cocoforcannabis.com/osmosisandec/
Idk enough about most other growing mediums to comment. I’m sure you want to keep whatever medium moist. As far as EC fluctuations being an issue in other mediums, I have no first hand knowledge.First time. I use to grow about twenty years ago, but never with coco

Yeah it wicks but only like half way up. Some people have made wicks from nylon rope or I think microfiber cloth to draw it up higher. I think you're looking for sip buckets/container growing which works well with water only soil. Will the coco wick from the perlite, therefore needing to be watered less frequently?
I honestly don't mess with perlite unless its wet.I just rinsed my perlite, do I need to let it dry before I fill the solo cups and transplant?
I punch a series of holes in the bottom of the bag with an icepick, then just barely open the bag put the hose in the bag and turn the water on. Fill the bag, let it drain and repeat X number of times to drain the fines from the Perlite.I honestly don't mess with perlite unless its wet.
yeah I’m not a fan of the dust. It always makes me sick after breathing it. It mixes better when everything is wet also.I punch a series of holes in the bottom of the bag with an icepick, then just barely open the bag put the hose in the bag and turn the water on. Like you I will not open it until I have watered it down.
No it's fine I use recharge and sometimes orca for myco and bacteria. Just keep your ph 5.8-6.2 I keep mine around 6-6.2. Just use it like once a week.Hi!
I'm gonna try hempy buckets filled with coco/perlite(60/40)for the first time.
Using hydro nutes. Not using organic nutes.
My questions:
Will I benefit from tea in this medium, and should I add molasses to the tea?
How often should I add it?
Will I have a problem mixing myco blend ment for soil with coco/perlite?
The tea will be made of hydroguard, vermicompost and mycorrhizal bennies product made for soil and some molasses if its not problematic.
And the molasses/sugar is okay as well?No it's fine I use recharge and sometimes orca for myco and bacteria. Just keep your ph 5.8-6.2 I keep mine around 6-6.2. Just use it like once a week.
Yeah recharge has molasses in it and it's fineAnd the molasses/sugar is okay as well?
