I would reccomend asking Jela about the rockwool as he seem to be having great success with it in his res and all. Truely think it would be an advantage to go all rockwool as it would give a long period between water/feedings with it's ability to hold more and longer.

Pineapple Express explosion. I started these on 4/7/2013. I took 84 cuttings from 3 mothers in dwc from seed that are only about two months old. .I took 40 cuttings from the biggest p.e., 32 from the second biggest and 12 from the least biggest wich I discarded afterwards and kept two p.e. moms. So most of them rooted pretty well with just using tap water and frequently using frozen water bottles to keep the temps down. All my clones are 6-8 inches. 12 days so far in the cloner. I'm going to let them stay for 21 days total hopefully to get some long roots so they can hit res when I plant themimage.jpgimage.jpg

Jela! So how is a rockwool rrs working out for ya?'I boight a 40 dollar bag of grodan grow chunks on a whim. Been thinking that full on rockwool would retain just too much water but maybe i can use it for'the reservoirs with a soil/perlite mix above (ill hide the perlite under a top layer of dirt to hush my woman up). Its that or build a flood table or two but i really love Hempies now that ive had 3 runs with them...aside from watering so many plants by hand its the most carefree method'ever. I had NFT like yields this last run too. I need to get my adolescent cuttings into my bloom tent real soon as theyve filled their 4x4 inch rockwool cubes with roots and are just so eager to veg under big lights. I do think that ill be running half the plants at 2.5x the size for my new run. Ive got more than enough smoke to play around with LST and supercropping with a 2-3 week veg at least.

Sending my cousin in Cali some good cuts of my stuff for him to greenhouse this summer as Kush seems to be about the only shit theyre running in his area. Cant wait to see 12 foot tall bluedreams! Im going to probably run all BD under one light and all Skunk under the other to make things easier on me. Ill get somepics up of my new girls'soon.

Think ill get off my ass'right now and toss'my new girls in a 3x3 tray with rockwool chunks under a 400 mh right now which should give me a week to ne lazy and ponder my new run.Cheers.

Brilliant dude! Glad to see it coming together for you. Those clones have rooted well, I rarely get roots that high up the stems. :clap:

Can't wait to see your 2L SOG. :lol:

RW is a PERFECT medium for Hempys.

HELLO PEOPLE. I use RW too ;-). .......... LOL

Hey Moe I thought you did coco and mapito. So youve used 100 rockwool Moe with good results? Id love to try it with these grow chunks.

This is the stuff i got a bag of. I just laid a layer of ph'd nuted grow chunks down so that the roots shoud grow mostly down while i figure out what im going to do.securedownload-517.jpg

I'm close enough to Fort Lewis to have the windows rattle when the boys start playing with their mortars...and when the wind is right, I can hear automatic weapons fire.

Yeah OK youre right but ... The mapito is mainly RW. and I do throw in whatever cubes etc I have lying around. ... I have a stack of 4" cubes I'm about to chop up and add to the mapito.

I kinda don't see much point in the relatively small amount of Coco chunk in the 'mapito' . I do see it as RW. ... Next time I restock, I'll probably try the 1cm mini cubes.

Well if you think 100% rockwool works im going to try it out..maybe ill toss hydroton in the mix. Gonna smoke some n crash.

Shiva how's the stretch on the blue dream because I have 3 little blue dreams in coco and may turn them into moms for future cutting down the line but I don't know if they'll do we'll in a 2l sog because of the possibility of stretching too much.

Morning WoH and Happy 420 to all. Got a quick update, then it's jump in the car and head to the big town for the Cannabis Cup (and see the grandson).

Day 33 of flower, The spear builders are the homemade Mist X, and the one with the fat buds is a Maui-Thunder, my one large spear girl isn't filling in like the other smaller spear girls, and it's already showing brown/red pistils. The 2 smaller ones are sitting on 1 gal paint buckets and are still at least 6" shorter than the tall girl.

Appears to be another great combo for a medium...that's what I'm using in the Sharksbreath grow in my sig. I was doing 100% Grodan growchunks in the last grow, but had Barney's Farm LSD in it and it was so finicky....I couldn't figure our if it was the strain or the medium. I wasted so much time on it that I needed some guaranteed success for meds so I used a mixture of coco/rockwool up top for the sharksbreath. I'm still all rockwool in reservoir. Here is a shot of the root ball from the BF LSD when I gave it to a friend to finish out.
