World's first cannabis cultivation trial

This project is financed by Quantum
Bigway is already in the tobacco market and supply BAT and imperial tobacco
Will the tobacco companies have interest maybe maybe not. There is synthetic cannabis @ 4 cents a gram coming onto the market and hemp at cheap rates probably around the same figure. So likely hood of tobacco companies taking @ 1.5 bucks a gram probably unlikely.
This is Quantum putting something into Africa
Rather than take it out.
As already mentioned kind of useless to test without clones.

Pretty sure your tobacco partners think this is OK because tobacco seeds grow like clones. Very hard to tell ones productivity from another. They all kind of grow at the same rate.

Be curious to see what strains the tobacco companies come up with for pest resistance and uniformity.I'd tend to think they'd always favour seeds for the fact they can be bought sold and transported in bulk much easier than prepping clones etc.

Don't think the decision lies with tobacco companies or myself this is government level
Something that could be appealed against at a later date. Remember this country has only just legalised for export ONLY. African people will not be allowed this product YET!

Strains will be down to the producers.

My idea was to get tobacco companies to take on Cannabis cup winners. Producing prerolls of cannabis cup winners sounds a boon to me. And would be if we can get everyone onside.
It will mean them producing a huge amount of seed but would also make them millionaires overnight.

I imagine there's other factors despite growth rate that's important. There are pros and cons to all systems I imagine they are just looking for a system that is going to give them a good cost/ benefit and is compatible with their resources. If your system is effective then it will be evident.

The tobacco partner is a sort of collective if you like. They are not owned by the tobacco giants as such.
Bigway collects the harvests of other farmers
They also provide fresh plants each year for the farmer's. They take away plant costs pay them X for the tobacco. Then it's sold onto BAT and Imperial.
Bit of a closed shop if you ask me and prime for corruption and ripping of the farmer's which no doubt happens.

The tobacco companies IE BAT and Imperial are not involved yet. If they were they would be entirely pissed of with what I did yesterday. Which tore up a previous agreement as I was lied to. Starting a new agreement with there power taken away.
I won't go any further than that only to say there's a lot more happier people in the group and only one who's pissed off.

And another thing if this works labour rates will change.
Have already spoke with others and my funding partner who is also for the workforce.

Currently a farm worker earns around a dollar a day
Works from 6 am to 8 pm if a good employer they may get two bucks
And does 6 days a week.

Quantum will put workers rights into the franchise
Which it is allowed to do franchisee's will have to employ like this
10 hour days 5 days a week 5 bucks a day
Would like to go further but it could cause problems.
Executives are the only ones out here that get a full weekend off.
Times are changing cannabis can afford to pay more and should be a leader in the field of employment.

Corruption is another issue. It's rife was in Harare town centre a copper pulled me for a low mask and fined me the equivalent of 5 bucks. Angry wasn't a word had I been a younger man he was alone in a box it would have been good night sweetheart and I would have walked. This money went into his pocket
Would love to stop corruption I hate it.
130m dollars in diamonds went missing the other week. No one did jack shit about it
Absolutely shocking.

Morning all
another update Harrison the boss of Bigway wanted yesterday to breech the NDA by bringing an agronomist along to view the system.

Bigway contract has been terminated with immediate effect.
In life I am generally a nice fella but in business yes I am cutthroat with any threat towards this trial or part of my business

Are those landrace seeds? I don't understand the reason to run 12 months+ strains in a hydroponic system? Makes no sense what so ever.

What are you actually planning to accomplish, produce and sell?
No Landràce that would be stupidity. Quantum can grow big plants for sure. But would need a little adjustment for trees.

Zoey has 5 kg of this seed
We are using Cherry blossom a high CBD with 1 to 3 percent THC supposedly.
Have chosen this rather than more delays waiting on a high THC licence.
For a quicker start we have a hemp licence. While the THC licence is being processed as it will be needed when we harvest as 0.6 and above needs THC licence.
official start day now is next Friday

Got an argument with Zimbabwean authorities for inclusion of cuttings.
Which will be borne out once we start.

So far no matter what seed I have used. Have always got two different varieties from the same seed.
As these are a hybrid
We get the same this time it stands a chance of getting cuttings included in the future.
Which I know will please a lot of palates

You probably have to cut it a little early like they do in Spain and Italy to stay under 0.6% THC. I would hunt for a mom and hide the cuttings til you get everything sorted.

Very hard to tell a clone grown bud from seed without technical data.

Good luck in your endeavors Harry!

Thank you gonna give it the best.
We will have cover with zoeys THC licence come the end.
Cut early
Never!! Lets C what THC can be attained 6 percent I will smile.
Oh yes and CBD

One thing that could be on our side for cuttings in the future.
We will do it legally
Every time i have set of a system I get two different plants from the same seed.
We get that this time Zoey will be beating the doors down.
M8 she's only tiny but in a battle of words there's not many that stand a chance.
After all you can't have two types of the same breed

19.35 Finally
We get under way
Venensia chose two different types of medium
Coco coir and some sort of bark didn't get the name of it last night.
I went for the other old favourite rockwool.
Something like Friday should be on the system.IMG_20210815_193314.jpg

Trial officially started.
This is day 5 pictures of the best on each system.
1st is Clive with guppieponics and granite growth medium. Because of leaks Clive is a day and a half behind
next Is Venensia's Dutch buckets. She has pine bark as a medium.
Lastly Quantum. With 1.5 one inch Rockwool blocks.

Seedlings for each system were picked to make as equal as possible in the beginning
Leave you to draw your own conclusions.
