would a 3.5ft x 2.5ft x 8fthigh area be enough for 6 plants?

i know newbie question

i think i heard somewhere that you need at least 1 square foot per plant. if this is true i should be fine.

i am going to be growing under a 400w cooltube with proper exhaust and ventilation.

and also

what is the diameter of most 3gallon pots? 1ft? what about 5gallon?

please lemme know. your help would be greatly appreciatated .

p.s. im not doing SOG

I use three gallon buckets, they are a foot across the top. You should be able to fit six plants in there - but it won't leave you room to move around, be prepared to have to bring them out for any work you need to do with them.:peace:
