Would copper in the bubble-water do any damage to plants/cuttings?

Some plants need copper, and a copper deficiency can prevent proper flowering. I know some plants really need it, like chrysanthemums. Some plants find copper toxic. I just found an interesting pdf about what metals plants need and how to tell when, and mentions copper:

Why do plants need copper?

Copper plays an important role in quenching the radicals produced during biochemical processes. It is also
a component of proteins and enzymes that are critical in producing ATP the “Biological Currency’. Copper
is required for lignification, especially xylem formation, and its mobility is moderate to immobile within the
plant.

Well, I read on almost all my nutrient bottles (proganics is my usual) .. there's always copper in the fertilizer. Copper Sulphate. I know I know, though, it's a different FORM of copper.

why not use a hot glue gun and stick em where you want?... its what i do, no issues yet... you dont even need the gun, get the sticks cheap at ANY store that sells craft things, burn with fire to melt and apply.
Cos I don't have a hot-glue gun, and I'm far too lazy to empty the tank, dry it properly, hot-glue the stones, then refill and re-nute the water :)

I actually just rung the local hydro shop, they're open till 4pm - (1:40pm now, so that's fine), and the dood says they got NOTHIN at ALL to clamp-down airstones... how fuckin useless is that I ask you? you'd think they would at LEAST carry those sucker-pads/suction pads for the stones.

I didn't expect quite this much discussion about copper: All I wanted to know was whether it'd hurt the plants, since it was all I had laying around.

I guess no one ever heard of copper poisoning in plants , but it is real . Driving copper nails into a tree will kill it . I never tried using any copper wire around my garden because of this reason . But if you think this will work try it and let us all know , I wouldn't though .

Remember people: We're talking about THIN BONSAI copper wire: For training plants, here. Not the film on the underside of a printed circuit board or something :)

I'm not sure exactly WHAT type of copper it is: Copper's copper to me, but it's meant for tying plants.. thus, meant for coming in contact with the foliage (above the soil at least) :)

Well it's more of a make-shift method just to stone the airstones bunching up on one side of the res.

I figured it'd be more natural than Stainless, or fensing-wire, and heavier too. But I"ll have a look at the hydro shop for some heavier stones.

I also have some 6mm elbows and 'T's that I didn't end up using, so I can always buy 4+ smaller stones, and place one in each corner - if the big/heavy ones are not to my liking. That's an option: THough I'd still have to pin em down.

if its as easy as copper is copper for you... have you ever seen a copper (smoke) pipe? im guessing not because copper fumes can do some nasty shit to you. do you really want to grow your plant and have it maybe absorb something that could kill you? i dont know for a fact that it could have that result but like you said... copper is copper

edit for (smoke) pipe...
id rather use a stick

A pet shop with aquarium stuff? I used to get those little suckers to hold air lines in place for my fish tank, but the hot glue or gorilla glue sounds good.

I suppose if i only use it for a few week it shouldn’t hurt it too much? I've got a 14ltr Bucket that i keep my water bubbling for at least 2 days to get rid of any nasty's before i use it to water my girls. My Girls get watered every 3 to 4 days so it's changed on a Regular basis so it should be OK. Plus i've got my PPM Meter that should show if there is a reaction of sorts?

I Think someone forgot to train my Dog on how to be Lazy :lol::lol: She is Always Hypoactive even when she is Sleeping & Dreaming Ha Ha Ha...
She has got a Lot of Love though & Never leaves my side, She likes a Hug at least every 5 Min. and if she doesn't get it she will Nudge you till she does.lol...
She's Worse than a Women, But i Love Her. (No-one heard me say that did they?)
Your Dog ain't no Waste  He's a Handsome little fella 8) I'd love to have him as a Pet lol...

Go look at the cuttings dood: https://www.rollitup.org/general-marijuana-growing/499265-some-pics-bubble-cloner.html#post6851357

They're just shit-o garden plants at the moment, just a test-run so I know it's working effectively before I plug anything consumable into it :)

So for now, it doesn't matter how toxic the shit I add is, cos the cuttings will simply be repotted and shoved in the garden as ornamentals :)

Tjhat's why I'm asking these questions now, so when I DO get round to any MJ cuttings, everything's A-Okay.

Yeah the suckers are what I'm after. even just air-line suckers. they might even have those - I idn't ask for air-LINE suckers.

The hydro shop's alot closer than the local shopping centre - where the local Pets Paradise is, and less of a hasstle than dodgeing 100 thousand women all out for the post-xmas shopping sales ;)

..cheaper too: Local Pet Store is radically over-priced, and radically low on product options.

Just use steel or some other metal if you're sketchy bout the copper. Though - like I said, my cuttings are as stiff as they were on the donor plant before I took em, so they're not bitchin bout the copper :)

BRASS: Now that would be a more human-friendly metal. That's used in everything from fridges to heaters to taps and kitchen appliances.

Only reason I used copper, at all, was coz I figure it'd be heavier than alot of the alloy wires, and I had a whole roll of it :)

I never used it thinking it'd be particularly good OR bad for plants. Just the only thing around that weighed enough :)

I would imagine that the copper tubing isn't in direct contact with the roots? Then what difference would it make, since all the water we get come through copper pipe.
