How long does the strong smell stay in a home after all growing has ceased and its been aired out? Does it cause permanent damage? I'm assuming size matters. For instance, a small 4x8 tent with 8-10 flowering plants + a smaller 3x3 tent for vegging/cloning and another 3x3 tent for drying/curing. all have fans+ducting to a big screened window venting into private sealed off garden area outside.
I know the house will reek of weed from the flowering plants no matter what, but am I wondering if there will be long term damage from the smell?
I also know smoking weed causes less damage than smoking cigarettes(which cause a lot) but I've never heard of growing to cause permanent "smell damage" but have a worried family-member-in-law.
I tried to google and search here for answers, but not a lot of mention of 'long term smell damage' except on sites that seem to have extreme bias against marijuana. Some say ridiculous things like 'a home that used to hold a marijuana grow can have lingering thc in the air that can harm a pregnant woman's unborn baby' so its hard to believe anything on those sites. I also found realty sites that rant and rave about mold damage caused by turning a whole basement into a humid green house or structural damage from DIY ventilation installation cutting holes through walls and insulation, but that is all irrelevant if the grow is in tents, non invasive to the house, and well vented.
I think growing in Mylar tents that are vented out into a garden, there would be no remaining/lingering smell even a month after removing everything/airing the room out? Is my assessment correct? Or does a home smell like marijuana forever even after all traces of the grow are removed?
I'd love any resources on the matter if anyone has any, thanks.
