would this light be ok?

Hi would this light be ok for growing 2-3 (auto-flowering dwarf) plants?

i was looking for a ballast and bulb but cheapest i can find both for is like £100, where as this is only £55 (with ballast/bulb/fixture)

which means i can pretty much get light and seeds sorted for £100 odd.

Go here and get a 250w MH/HPS light. They will give you a MH conversion bulb to use in the hps system.

That would have been my suggestion too, but this fellow is in the UK.

and buy a powerplant metal halide bulb, as i think they work with hps ballasts, though not 100% sure, can anyone confirm this?

Even if it doesn't, many people grow with HPS from start to finish.

Yeh i know, but its supposed to be much better to use mh for veg and hps for bloom, right?

and how do i know if a mh bulb works in a hps ballast?

I could be wrong, but I don't believe a MH bulb will work in that HPS fixture. Try contacting the seller. There are a lot of people that will tell you that MH offers little or no benefits over HPS for veg. Not saying I'm one of them, as I have both, but I probably wouldn't replace my MH bulb if it were to die. I'd like to try at least one grow with HPS throughout anyway. If money isn't an issue, try and get both, otherwise the HPS will do just fine. By tthe way did you check ebay for grow lights? I'm reasonably sure that you'll find something better there.
