He is a tech. It had been completely dismantled and identified before it got home.

first of all if belonged to the cops it would have an id tag on it. all police equipment is required to have some id.
are u shur it's not near a game trail or sum? could it be a hunter?
my point is if was the cops they would have ripped up the plants, they never leave shit growing. they dont's start looking for bud till sept.
if the plants can make with out any help, i would just wait till harvest go on one night and reap ur reward.
the cops aren't going to stake out a grow with 10 plants.

Not to be argumentative, but I am not sure it is a requirement that it be marked police... they typically like to get their stuff back I imagine... but I would need some further proof of that to be comfortable.
There are a SHIT TON of hunters in this area. It could very well be a hunters. It may well be off a trail... I don't know where it is. I am erring on the side of caution.
If the cops wanted photos of the person they still would have pulled them? I mean... you would have to get near the things... and if you saw them gone you wouldn't likely. I mean... you make good sense... and this is the reason I posted the thread.

if it is police, you can probably be damned sure there's at least one more, covering the first, else i really don't know what cops are paid for, very first thing if you're trying to stakeout, you gotta have more than one angle. else they'd jsut be putting cameras into the woods for people to put on ebay.

Screw that - I'd have formatted the card in the camera, wiped it, put everything back in place as it was... destroyed the plants, and started volunteering with the local D.A.R.E. chapter for a few months. lol
Speaking of which, did you look the camera over? Most government/state/agency purchases would have an aftermarket stamp/imprint/identification put on it (gotta love bureaucracy) for inventory control and what-not. Might be worth checking it out thoroughly just to see if you can glean some information from it.

If the camera was facing the crops then the cops know abt it. A hunter would not want his shit stolen or destroyed for some pot. If your friend has never been in trouble and wont be recognized by cops then he might be ballsy enough to return. Like everyone above said, if he's gonna go do it at night. When those things start flowering the cops may increase their watch over the site. If he drives his car be aware that a camera can be set up on the main road near the edge to record plate #'s of pulled over cars. Im sure they can angle it not to pick up all the other traffic. Besides the traffic will be moving quick and the camera will def get set off when he walks in front of it. Idk there are too many variables. Either way i wish you guys the best with whatever u choose.

I would go there to harvest and that it. Your buddy should bring a couple friends with him in the middle of night and get the plants as fast as possible, Because it's going to take 1 guy to much time to chop 10 12 foot pot plants (After flowering) and haul em and try to fit them in his car. Is there only 1 road to his spot? He best have a lookout so if ANY cars come they can bail.
But that's coming from me and getting busted up here is A LOT different then getting busted in the US. Here For 10 plants I would probably get a fine and prohibition worst case, In the US they'd let you rot in a cell.
