wow - extremely annoying trying to get wires into IDEAL COB holder

Im using stranded 16 AWG wire - looks like ill have to go for some non stranded wire, really disappointed with this wire socket thing, seems to accept a paper clip end but will not accept the wire no matter what i do - tried tinning them as well but just wont go in

really frustrating :( any tips??
 
Those holders are for 18AWG I think and no need to tin the wires, also best not to twist, just cut, strip and plug in.
 
If you use 18ga and tin it,it will fit..
16 is just too big in stranded form.18 ga solid works best,super easy to put in
 
Have you tried soldering the ends of a fresh stripped wire??

I know I had to do that with mine, but I don't recall the gauge atm.

Solid core is much easier for sure.
 
hahaha just saying, there was no reason to use stranded wire.

ok drunken master of science. ill remembet that next time when i think of spouting out obvuous information out of bored thread trolling
