we are in the midst of a very odd cool spell .. this will break soon and temps will return to normal. But then it will merely be a dry heat...... grrrrrrrr...

When my flight landed Saturday night at 9:40pm PST, it was 102 degrees. That, in no way, shape or form is cool. lol.

The Bible claims animals are inferior because they don't have the ability to reason. Once you're done reading about Hannibal, if you need more cool stuff to read, look up Imhotep.
They need to do more research on Hannibal though, there isn't enough to read about him. Most of the "research" is focused on 3 written Roman accounts. And Hannibal was like Rome's biggest enemy, so they probably don't give Hannibal the credit he is due.

But I think the picture makes the bible moot, the bible doesn't shut it down. It tries to, but it's a picture.

Btw, most of Hannibal's conquest is accredited to him, but he has tons of family members to read about as well. 2 or 3 of them even served under him as officers or something, and were instrumental in all Hannibal's ambushes. Which as I said before, I believe we're not meant to purely be ambushes, but were actually a way to run into battle blindly, without ending his bloodline. Giving his men (family) a chance to see if the battle is hopeless before running in.

Lol, why does it have to be about who would win in a fight? And I'm pretty sure Khan could have beat Hannibal too. But those two aren't as purely awesome as Hannibal.

When Hannibal defies odds, it's "headstrong", but Alexander the Great (also awesome, just more obviously a "conquerer". Which is fine, but tremendously less interesting than a story of a man with no faith using his dead family to fuel a rebellion across the empire)...

Fin, history is full of fascinating individuals and to see you {or anyone for that matter} take such an interest in our shared past is good.
It is one thing to read about history, yet to walk away with nothing but amazement some how belittles the lives it cost to make such idols, for every Alexander and Khan there are countless slain, for every flag unfurled there is blood spilled.
History is a lesson and one that all should learn from, IMO
I have often wondered how it is that every man loves himself more than all the rest of men, but yet sets less value on his own opinions of himself than on the opinions of others.

This is one part of history we are not exposed to (at least as children) in America, and probably many other countries. So to be amazed at my amazement in someone we were never even told about in school, while we spent an entire YEAR on US history, is rediculous. They couldn't mention Hannibal? We've all at least HEARD of Alexander the Great. Not saying Hannibal should be considered US history, I'm saying a year on US history is not interesting, while any amount of talking about Hannibal would have been interesting.
