Every time I move my plants into the flower room, they are wilting over and look overwatered!?!

This is the 4th or 5th time this has happened, they look great in veg before the move. this time I even left the light on 18/6 to ease the transition.

-The stems turn purple, and leaves wilt & turn yellowish. 3 diff strains

-Watering- flood tray once per 24 hrs- the same as schedule as is veg.

-ppm 900 GH recommended transition formula. ph 5.9

-air temp 72-82 F humidity 55% res temp 72 F

-roots look healthy

I just ordered a replacement HPS to rule out posible light issue....?

REALLY FRUSTRATED.. would love any input please:wall:

you should really fill your pots up to the top so your plants have more room for roots. it looks like you could be using rockwool, if so you are way over watering. water when the pot gets light and at lights on, usually every couple days.
one more tip, when your clones are starting out dont water too often you want the roots digging deep for water.

Looks to me like you might be starting with the hps too low. I would raise it all the way and gradually bring it down to the correct level over a week or so.:bigjoint:

It sounds like death by heat. It is so quick of onslaught it has to be something like heat..

the plants were started in rocwool, but the pot are mostly coco croutons now. most the roots are still around the baseball sized amount of rocwool, but new roots are growing into the coco.

It seems to be over-watering, but today the pots were light, indicating they are dried out, so I flooded, and you could see em droop a little bit more.

The last time this happened, I waited 2-3 days to let them dry out, and they completely collapsed.

You mentioned you're replacing the HPS. How old was it? The 5 prior grows you also mentioned, did they go to term using this same light, or did the problem get progressively worse with each new grow? Also, those are some FAT ass indica leaves, what's the strain?

the bulb was replaced around the time the problem started- 6 months or so.

The strains are ppp, supergirl, jack horror.

Yea, I can't see how moving them to flower creates instant over-watering issues. To be sure, move them back to the veg room or outside in the sun for 3 or 4 hrs and see if they perk up. Than you know it's the light.

Here we go again..

So I only watered them once yesterday.

Today waited to about the 28 hour mark and this.......

They are dried out FLOPPING!!!!!!

I flooded the tray, switched the light out and raised it up.

I have never seen anything like this.:spew:

My veg area is to small to put them back into.

My suggestion, let them dry out. Don't flood, do *just* enough! Check your pH balance, I'd probably raise it some. How much air flow is there? Thinking your humidity levels might be a bit high too. Might be why watering is causing problems, & why you've got such wide leaves. & I agree about seeing if sunlight helps them perk up! If so, obviously need some new bulbs!

man that sux. Here's the thing, there is a variable that is causing this. Maybe it's the nutrient solution or something. What is different from the veg room to the flower room. Can you possibly get your vegging plants underneath that light? I would assume that the light is not the problem and if you could give your veg plants this light with all the other variables the same and this didn't happen than it would prove it. Maybe it's just the light intensity they do look like they are a little lanky. I put my veg plants under the HID as much as possible to make the most of the light and because it's so much bvetter than the CFLs. Good luck bro.

Thanks for t he ideas.

I am just going to have to go thru 1 thing at a time and eliminate variables.

in my experience.. the prob appears to be a watering issue.. but when i cut back, they dry out.

I have a dehumidifier I reduced from 55 to 50% today.

Also a 18" ocsilating fan blowing on them.

I have backed of on nutes, because when I swith to flower room, I usually increase to full stregth. No difference.

I have actually taken a few plants all the way to harvest(that acted this same way when putting in the flower room). They survive, and roots look good, but leaves look like death and overwater. The yield was much less than it should be, but the plants hang on.

I just dont understand. I have run healthy crops thru this setup. I thought my res temps were getting to high, but it is 68-72 F

very frustrating to see healthy plants repeatedly get sick when I move them.

are you using RO, bottled, or tap water. is there anything your changing with the type of water other than the nute level??:joint:

OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!! Bro I had the same problem and I thought I was over feeding them but actually I was UNDERFEEDING THEM! Trust me you are drying them out listening to everyone saying dont water them. If your doing hydro or flood and drain it needs to be water often. I water every hour with hydrotion pellets and a root plug. They dont have soil to absorb the water so they need it often try to water more. Maybe not every hour but at least every 2 hr trust me try, feed them more and see how they look the next day. I know it will work good luck man! Keep the really schudule nutes too they will need that.

I am growing in rockwool cubes in hydroton and I have it watering in a 15 min on/off cycle during the day and a 15 min on 60 min off at night. If you have a really well drained medium you are better off watering it with a small amount often rather than giving it lots when it dries out. I also find that my plants stress out for the first week or so in the flowering section because its a totally different environment. My mother box is warm, white and humid. My flowering area is orange, dry and has a constant cool breeze blowing. I see a slightly accelerated recovery from foliar feeding for the first 2-3 days at the start and end of the photoperiods. Some strains can show stress at the smallest changes. If the leaves are going yellow or dropping off I would just give them time to acclimatise.
