wonder if holding it up with one hand and giving it a good spray with the hose would do the same? Or lay it down give it a spray? I’m too cheap to buy tubs!No links but from what I've read in the past on this site most do 1 cup of H2O2 to 5 gallons of water. If all you're trying to do is remove debris, dust, etc... then plain water is going to be sufficient.
You can do a google search for "bud washing after harvest" and find more information than you probably want to deal with. Much of it different. I've never used more than just plain water to rinse out debris that falls from the trees. I just swish the branches around gently to remove most of the debris. I doubt it's possible to get it all.
As long as you're not to rough on them I don't see why it would be a problem. Sounds like something I would do. Oh wait I have.wonder if holding it up with one hand and giving it a good spray with the hose would do the same? Or lay it down give it a spray? I’m too cheap to buy tubs!
Looks promising as long as I don’t read into the comments. No problems with the baking soda/lemon mix? All dries ok when hanging? This is the technique I use. Consensus you're not likely to get, everyone's opinion is different. In fact I reverse this guys order of washing, I do the lemon juice (I just get a bottle of it instead of squeezing lemons, less change of getting lemon pulp in the buds) + baking soda mix first, then then H2O2, then the rinse.
Those dead bugs in the bud adds to the highThat's an example of why I tell people to just spray aphids off with plain water instead of spraying something to kill them. They just die and stay in the bud.
That worry is why I stir it VERY well, do that wash first before the H2O2 and then a final rinse. Never had a problem. I personally do it in 5 gallon buckets and fill them to about 4 gallons of water. No problems with the baking soda/lemon mix? All dries ok when hanging?
Hmm, yeah I’m about 45-55rh most the time. I really swung them around to get the excess water off and won’t have my new fan for a few days but I’m confident living in a drier climate I’m probably not in the highest risk bracket. Just unusual when your buds get that drenched. I worry about agitating the buds and having the buds hit the sides of the bucket. Could shake off the trichs? Maybe not as they are not as fragile fresh as they are dry.You can put an oscillating fan on low on them for a few hours if you're really worried. In my case from the times before I bud washed to after, I added about 3-4 days to my drying time, the first several times I put a fan on them because I was terrified of how wet they were. Now I just put a towel under them to catch the drips. Kind of depends on how dry your environment is in the first place. I keep my house around 40% rh all the time with a whole house dehumidifier, so it's pretty dry in my space.
