Bingo... instead of chemically telling your brain to block the pain with a pill which (some) have many side effects. This is a MM users whole argument put short and simple, weather it be for pain, anxiety, depression etc. It helps mask the pain or ailment which is the same as taking a pill.
That being said, marijuana has a long time to go before it is legalized. I think actual smoking of marijuana will never be legal, just my honest opinion. It will have to be in a pill form, inhaler, capsule etc. I know we have Marinol, but that is synthetic.

After ACL replacement (football injury) they gave me some stuff and I'll tell you in a heartbeat... this stuff got me high AND took care of the pain. I loved it and was high for a month straight until I ran out. I got a refill from the doctor after all of my pain from surgery was gone and it got me the same amount of high as when I first took it for pain, no more no less. Finished the bottle and moved on with life. But that just eliminates your theory of getting "higher". Sorry.

Exactly... it will come in tablet form. Now whether you're sick or not. Taking marijuana as a pill just wouldn't be the same.
Which is why we must fight. I see the future of cannabis, and it is bleak... at least for everyone of us here that enjoys growing it. If we call it a medicine, we hand them eventual control. Cannabis is much more than a medicine.

Hmmm never thought about it like that b4, Skunk. That makes perfect sense, tho. The gov't and healthcare system have a monopoly on all medicines, why would marijuana be any different?

it def helps with my muscular dystrophy without a doubt and compare it to the meds im on like morphine,valium,vicatin and the side effects are way less and it def helps with the mood where when im on morphine i tend to be less patient and moody with my family compared to when i smoke and im all smiles even more active.so pass the pipe anyday!nov 2008 michigan !

I would not use weed if it wasn't for my medical condition. Did not before and if I'm blessed enough...would not after.
But, I also think it should be legal for EVERYONE but especially for the MMJ patients. It really helps them/us.

I'm not sure how anyone can smoke herb and not find it's beneficial in a number of medical ways. Haven't you ever had a headache and smoked to make it go away? Insomnia? Nausea? Yeah, I like gettin stoned too, but just because some people like drinking cough syrup to get fucked up doesn't mean it's not medicinally viable too.

Yeah definitely. But first and foremost, before any recreational legalization, I think it's important that the millions of people who use it medicinally get the medicine they need. If we delay the legalization of medical marijuana because we want to be "truthful" about the fact that we all just want to get stoned, that's going to screw a lot of people that need their medicine.

Where are you getting this from???
Hemp could be a huge industry and if it were recognized for its medicinal purposes it would lose some of the stigma attached I believe hemp farms would finally be allowed, along with more hemp seed products being produced, etc.
