WTF? My timer didn't switch last night!

So as the title says. I checked on my lady this morning only to find that the timer never turned off las night. WTF?? I was in the room yesterday when the lights turned off so I know this is the first day the timer has not worked. So instead of getting 12/12 it got 17/7 last night. Has this happened to anyone else? Did it hermie your plant? Boy do I hope my lady is ok. I'm going to grab a new timer today and just start the 12/12 from when I turned the lights out. Man I am so bummed about this. Everything has gone well so far until this.

Your plant will br fine. Fix the timer or get a new digital one. I always use a relay to take the load off my timers.

Thanks for the advise bird. I'm going to look into the relay. Also, would I be better off just starting the light schedule where I left off or should i return to the previous schedule? I feel that if I try to put her back on the original schedule that I will only further stress her. Any advise?

Smooth i gone through about 5 timers now but got fed up with worrien about my ladys so finaly invested in a black box timer contactor, expensive but worth it just for piece of mind, out of the 5 times this happened only had 1 lot hermi on me and that was martian mean green and we have had problems with this strain in the past, so could have been a coinsurdence, not too sure.

I keep my schedule no matter what. I've had this problem before and I just return them back to the planned schedule. For about $100 you can get an industrial timer that will load up to 3000w.

Hey,

I've had this happen too, I would keep to the original schedule. For me it was them not turning on, so most of the time i'm waiting to go look.

Never had a problem with hermies but all my plants went into flower because the timer f'ed up one time...was about 3 weeks early messed my plans up a little but actually turned pretty good.

Just reset the timer for the right time and keep a watch on it...something like this happening once or twice won't hurt anything..but over and over it could cause issues.

I got these super cool surge protectors with programmable times...you can set like 6 different on and off times each day and there are like 5 timered outlets and one not on the timer...they are the shit yo!

This sounds intriguing. Are they as expensive as the industrial timers? My grow isn't that large or sophisticated so I just bought a new timer for the time being. I wouldn't mind spending around 50 bucks for a decent solution but $100 is just not reasonable for me taking in consideration how much everything else has costed. Thanks to everyone who posted and reps to all.
Smooth.
