I remember when this was a peaceful place, where one could come to get great information about growing from people who were truly helpful and not judgmental about every little thing... This is like Invasion of the Bodysnatchers... What happened to you good people??? Ya'll need to snap out of whatever funk ya'll in and go back to handing out good information instead of attacking everyone who has a different opinion, because your word is not the final!!! The first thing that a new member says is that they've heard so many good things about RIU,and as soon as they ask a question the wolves come out to tear them apart!!! WTF IS UP WITH THAT??? I thought that each one was to teach one, to lift them up, not beat them down... Do unto others as you would have them do unto you... Peace ya'll!!!

This place is still pillows and marshmallows compared to the likes of Honda and VW forums. Most car forums, really, but specifically Honda and newer (water cooled) VW groups, the air-cooled VW cats are still cool AF.

Having lurked many grow forums and groups for a couple yrs, the main mentality has gone from "LET'S ALL HELP EACH OTHER GROW DANK" to "I GROW THE BEST DANK, F-CK YOU". And everywhere, not just here.

This isn't really true. Occasionally an overzealous lackey preemptively strikes a noob for just asking an question, but most of the time the noob gets defensive and lashes out. Sometimes it's over advice, and sometimes it's over a very obvious joke.

The thing I don't like is when someone rides a poster, new or old, for days / weeks / months.

Dude, your not lying about car forums. If you like to get beaten down by people then by all means. In one respect to, a lot of people disregard search functions and the same questions get asked a million times. Some people are just tired of answering what type of oil goes into a specific car.

It's been like this for awhile... whats funny is the shroom forums are just helpful and full of love... weed forums are like the rest of the internet at this point.
