So, i go to apply for a job via the internet, (online application) and some pages through i find out that they "have the right to drug test" or something within the first 48 hours??? Does this mean ONLY withinthe first 48 or does it mean once hired they can just spring one on me anytime?!? Anyone know of any similar company policies??

unless the word "random" is in the text of their employee handbook then no they cannot test you again. You must give consent to a drug test. Some companies will ask for consent to test you as a hiring condition and once you are hired you'll be given the handbook and sign a form in it aknowledging that you "read and understand" everything within it. so to answer your question....if they specified on the application that you would be tested as a condition of hiring this does not mean that don't have a random drug testing policy also.

I'm not sure about where your from, but in the united states I'm pretty sure it's standard to be able to drug test you if they want to. You don't sign anything giving them permission. If you fail to give permission they dismiss you from your duties. Chances are though depending on the job they will do the initial test and if you pass that they probably won't want to spend the money to do the follow ups.

I work at a hospital and in the policy it says they can drug test you any time they want, but with the position I have there isn't a need for it. But I still had to sign it.So I wouldn't be worried about it unless you are like a driver or a doctor or the likes. I'm a chef and I think everyone knows that food service people tend to be on the edge....A kicker is that every year one of our "benefits" is to get our blood tested and we all freak out and ask ourselves just what are they doing with that blood? But I have been there 8 years now and it hasn't happened yet.

most drug tests from major corporations are BS and easy to pass
for instance, at kroger where i use to work, they had a "toothbrush" test (it was this thing that looked like a tooth brush and collected cheek cells i guess and spit) but it could be tricked
on top of only being accurate for about a week at tops, it could be fooled by mouth wash, drinking lots of soda and weird stuff, and also holding it in one spot in your mouth and not letting it move around a bunch thus avoiding it from getting a good sample (you will drool on it a bit if you try it like that, but its unavoidable)
i took it twice and let me tell you passed each time, someone i knew was blazed when they took it and passed (they send it to a lab)
also most corporations and business's test for "thc" but are really looking for harder drugs like pcp and meth and what not, they probably wont care (or at least i have never personally known anyone to be turned away for weed)

I had a friend who got busted because he beat up a guy for fucking his girlfriend and as he was leaving he threatened the dudes kid, dumb ass, So he pulls away and he has a 1/4 pound in baggies for sale and got 16 years out of it. so he does 7 or so and they let him out and he said he had a fool proof idea, it was Borax and he drank it before his tests. well as it turns out you put your thumbnail in the borax and slip it in while you pee. NOT DRINK THE SHIT. so needless to say he's back in the pen. ( Did I say friend?) I should have said someone I know because this dude is no friend of mine. He knew he would go back if he didn't pass his test and he still couldn't do it.
I am retired from the military and while serving i was trained to be one of the peeps that administered the test, the only foolproof way to beat one is the whizzanator 2000, its a strap on prostectic with a built in bladder and heater cost around $200, or if you know their not going to watch you give the sample you can get one with just the bladder, heater and tube for around $30
