First, there is no thread anywhere to my knowledge of the interaction between these two drugs so I am going to make one for the sake of knowledge where someone is wanting to know the same information as I do now.
My personal problem:
I have an old script of intuiv, and I came off of xanax a couple of hours ago. I was extremely irritable.
I was reading about guanfacine(intuiv) and its metabolism is CYP3A4. I know this is the same as xanax am I wrong? I do not know much about this, but seemed to have leveled me out.
I only have 1mg of xanax, probably 4-5 grams of kava kava, and a bag of 2-3 grams worth of kava/kratom mixture(a tad bit more kratom than kava)
Tomorrow night I have to go to dinner with this girl. And I cannot be going through withdrawals during it. It would just. Ruin everything.
So my idea was to take an intuiv and then eat my kava as the day passes through work just to get by. Then a little before I go get her, to take the xanax so that it's no problem.
Next day, eat the kratom kava so that the withdrawals are minimal because I can't get anymore xanax for a couple of weeks unfortunately. (I wish I just had a fucking script already, but not really seems as I love to dig deep holes with the shit.)
Pot won't help, I will probably buy a beer [or six] while we're out.
But how does this all work? I am going to buy some white grape fruit juice before I head into work and drink some of that all day too because from the reading that I've done it does potentate all of these things seems as they all have something to do with CYP3A4. Problem is, I don't really know what 'CYP3A4' is.
Wikipedia uses vocabulary that is far over my head, maybe I am just lazy.
So, will the grapefruit juice help both the guanfacine/kava combo, and then the xanax later? I have a couple valiums too, but I think I'm just gonna let those stay because I am sick of being slave to benzos as I have more important shit to pay for right now(motherfucking paraphernalia reduction and ticket cost)
So what is CYP3A4, how does is work with guanfacine? How does it work with xanax, what does it do? How does it work with kava/kratom or kava alone? And should I take low dosages of dxm too to help? I am trying to make this withdrawal as minimal as possible seems as I've been taking 2-6mg daily for about two months. Today only 1, yesterday, two, same with the few days before, since I knew I was running low.
