Xbox 360 grow box

With the outdoor season long over I thought id start an indoor grow with a plant or two but I got a few questions. I'm planning on doing something like this https://www.rollitup.org/newbie-central/143544-how-build-pc-grow-box.html i got the fan set up already. But is there a risk of a fire with the socket adaptor or using a power bar? If any ones interested in seeing it when its done just ask.

The bulb in the last link does not have a ballast and will not work in a regular socket plugged into an outlet
You need to buy a fixture for it that has the ballast to power it

i do not understand why people do this
even if you 12/12 from seed you would be looking at a 10 - 12 in plant
and if you are starting from clone what is the point of grow 1 d battery sizeed bud (if your lucky)
unless you using the boxes as seedling starters to transplant outdoors whats the point of it

i cant imagen growing smaller then a 15 gal tote if i had to go stealth
you could stack 2 of those on top of each other and yeild 4-5 oz -ez

Risk of what? And yea I'm basically just doing this cause i have a bit to much time on my hands and may use it to start plants off a bit before the outdoor season

i kinda dont understand the pc grow. if its an attempt at a stealth grow what u gonna do bout the stink at flowering? no room for carbon scrubber in there? is ur pc always at an open window? ur only gonna get alil plant no matter what. i could understand if ur "sporting" or raising a couple of clones but......? dont get me wrong, i'm not knocking it, just curious.

this is not my grow but it looks cool and with a little modifing it could be extreamly stealth
maybe even make a box out of wood or find an old dresser some were to hollow out

yea man just cfl... six 150 watt equiv. 2700 lumen cfl's.
wow thats crazy the blankets look and feel like mylar. but they worked great, and for a cheapo set-up like this there perfect.
we actually harvested these main colas first.

then we harvested the rest this 2 friday's ago.

it was dried weight. not wet. and i did an aerogarden grow, but this is soil. we started both grows in october. i just happened to have my camera with me a couple times i went over there and shit the pics and just put them in my grow journal instead of startin a new thread.

Those rubbermaid totes are not light proof and need several coats of paint to become lightproof
I think that two totes stacked on top of each other (the top one being upside down will look odd right away), buzzing and glowing, with wires coming out of it.... yeah not stealth at all lol

i'm doing a pc grow, why? because i've been through 3 grows in a larger box, and i haven't let my plants get bigger than the pc box i have right here... in fact, sometimes i would put the plants inside the pc to see if they would fit, and yep, they fit... right now i'm using a big cardboard box that's not stealthy, i want it to be completely stealthy...

i'm not an advanced grower, i've had 3 single plant grows, yielded 20 grams off the first, 24 the second and 22 grams the third.... all plants vegged for 25 days, entire life cycle of the plant over in around 75 days....CFL... pretty decent yield for me, not enough quantity yet, but i can't go larger, a lot of people come into my house, i can't have them talking about how i have a couple of plants and shit.... it's a surprise nobody knows yet......

anyways, why not grow in a pc? all i'll use is 84 watts of light, and get pretty good yields per plant, considering it's not HID lighting, not hydro, and i'm pretty much gone most of the time.....

here's a drawing of my pc grow box in the works, still have to hook up the lights (two clamp lights from walmart) with 4 26 watt bulbs, 1/2 daylight, 1/2 softwhite....

there's a motherboard fan pushing air up to the carbon filter/old powersupply area, and another bigger fan pulling air out (i might need to get an extra fan, a big one to push the air into the carbon filter, and just leave that mother board fan for internal circulation)......

strain: bagseed for the first go with the PC, after that, i have a seed from some crazy weed called sensi star or some shit like that.... it sells for 30 bux a gram here, one of those 2 hits and i'm fucking stoned for hours weeds... and one of my grams had a single seed. i don't really like the high since it's really couch locked, but that indicates it'll be a shorter indica.... i hope...


growing medium: 3/4 fox farm ocean forest, and 1/4 fox farm potting mix...

here's what i'm gonna do, i'm gonna use a soda bottle, paint it black....

germ the seed in paper towel and put it in the bottle since it germs, but the bottle is going to be on it's side. the point is to have 2L of soil, but have it laid flat, with the seedling coming out of one end. i will then LST the plant to grow alongside the bottle of soda.... when it's about reached the end of the box, switch to 12/12....

at first the bottle will be right side up, and i will tilt it sideways as the plant grows, i also need to prop up the plant as much as I can to get it close to the light.... it's gonna be experimental but i know it's gonna work.... the roots will have plenty of room to grow, which will give me a solid plant, there's gonna be good circulation.... and more than 5000 lumens per square foot inside the box which should give me a good yield.....

i won't start a journal, or a thread, or post pics.... but you guys get the idea of what i will hopefully do.....

i'm in my 20's, i live with a girl at an apartment, i have a job, pay bills........ mommy and daddy's house is 1000 miles away... haven't talked to 'daddy' in almost a year.....

i live in a small 1 bedroom apartment.... there is no space for a "grow cabinet"... all I can do is a small box, or the pc grow i'm working on, because there is no room, literally....

i dont see why everyone hates on pc grows. i thought this was a site to share info and help people and encourage ideas not bash people. sorry some people dont have the room for a grow room or closet. i grow in a pc as well. i yielded 30 grams from my last grow.

If this is for a PC grow why is it titled Xbox 360 grow box? are you REALLY going to strip an Xbox 360 down take out all the "guts" and use the shell? that my friend is stupid, unless it has the RROD, and its out of warranty. I am also about to start a PC grow box. I currently have 3 small seed lings from a bag of shwag bud that they came from, they are about 2-3 days old and are just about 2 inches tall. I have them in a Red Dixie cup with a small 5 LED light thing above them till they are big enough to move to the PC case when i finish it. the LED's seem to be working pretty good so far.
