i have given a few ideas along the way to numerous admins and mods. many people including myself enjoy using this site to share information and learn new things. but you can't even start a thread on this site anymore without having 10 people arguing over something off topic on your own thread. we create these threads and journals for us, the real growers of medicine, and we can't even keep things civil anymore on our own thread, let alone the 50 other threads full of nothing but kids and trolls. and we both know that this is happening, and in record numbers lately. its been a major strain on the site and the mods both. what really needs to be done, and i know this isn't what a mod wants to hear, the problem is where the control lays. 1-2 mods if that that try to patrol this entire forum...it's just not working and some are too closed minded. what we need is for the person who starts the thread to be able to police their own thread. give them the option to remove certain members from viewing/posting on their thread...give them the right to remove harassing comments from their thread. this would give more control of the thread to the poster and give some slack to the mods here and let them handle more important things other then the fighting on here.
this is vbulletin...i know for a fact that there is a "MOD" that allows you to do this.
and also wanted to add that none of this has to do with you personally gogrow...you have always been a stand up guy least from what iv'e seen...im speaking in general of the site, its mods and admins it members...and the reason why this "mutiny" as you call it is even here. these people are not going against the mods or this site...its about the nonsense some of us have to put up with to give or receive help here. if they truly didn't care, they would not be here trying to run out all these kids and trolls that the mods can't keep a handle on.

I personally have never harassed anyone...ever. Never any infractions or anything remotely close to that. Yet I am guilty by association.... yes, vilified... warned and watched for hanging out on this thread and enjoying the humor.. But I see trolls, spammers and little kids having free rein, reeking unchecked havoc and passing on bunk information and advice. Very sad state indeed.

I have received 2 -reps in my 4 years with this forum, 1 from potroast, and I surely deserved it for being a "smart ass". The other was "fiddy" sticking me for calling him a "maude", after numerous insults back and forth on a prop 19 thread.....yeah...the power always wins!
Now it appears that the "old guard" mods, you know, the LISTED and KNOWN moderators, have vanished, only to be replaced by a crew of stealth's who seem to have appeared from nowhere!

This site is the Titanic, it is sinking fast. Potroat's knows changes need to be made and wants to make them but RIU has his hands tied and will not give the go ahead. There are do nothing mods, mods that basically quit without having formally quit and there is another who is the worst mod I have ever run across in my entire online life and who is part of the problem rather than part of a solution. RIU picked a couple new mods but things do not seem to be getting better and instead appear to be getting worse.
I believe the damage that has been done is beyond making mod changes or changing any rules. The site has become infested with kids who believe they know it all, when in fact they know dick, absolute 100% jerks who live to troll and it has enough newbies to fill Alaska to the point of overcapacity.
I believe the site is fast reaching a tipping point where it will capsize and there will be no powers under the sun or moon capable of bringing it back. When I found this site it was already bad. I picked this site to spend most of my time on because it clearly needed help more than any of the others that I am a member of or lurk at. I was stupid enough to believe that I could make some difference. Since joining rather than me helping things get better the pinhead jerks have changed me from being a straight talking blunt truth teller into being very sarcastic and quick to nip at anyone who nips at me. I don't like that. I do not like how this site has drug me down rather than how I hoped that in some small way I could help to elevate it.
Around here if you attempt to be helpful and tell the truth you are repaid by being attacked and vilified and lied about. All one has to do it look at the grief that Uncle Ben has been given and it is clear to see that the more you know and the more truth you tell the more flak you will catch from the massive collection of peons that infest and infect this site.
It's getting to be about the time that every decent member needs to take to the lifeboats and row for a better site. A good direction to row in would be http://www.cannabis-world.org/cw/index.php It does not have a large membership and is not nearly as active as this site but it does not have a massive membership of of morons, trolls and court jesters. Percentage-wise there are more knowledgeable members there by far, and by a massive percentage they are better people.
The most members the site has ever had online at one time is 854 so it is tiny compared to this site, but it offers quality over quantity.
It is something for the decent members here to consider. Though I joined the site in May 2006 I have hardly posted there. It is unlike here where you do not see the same questions asked every day, or as many as five times a day, all in different threads, so there are fewer lost balls in the tall grass asking questions to reply to and more people to read and learn from.
I would have suggested the Mr. Nice Forums but for many here it would not be the best choice. For one it is really dedicated to the Mr. Nice Seeds line and second, a short time back I made the mistake of posting messages here that I copied from there and several of this sites worst trolls stalked me there and now the place is turning into a real mess. It already had some who liked to argue but now thanks to the new additions it is getting more and more like a monkey feces flinging fight and more resembles this site than it used to. Unless someone almost totally grows nothing but Mr. Nice Seeds gear it is not the place to be, and even if you do you will have to put up with much the same garbage you put up with here.
The time has come to abandon ship my mateys. This old scow is a sinkin' fast and unless yee want ta' end up adrift and shark bait it is time to launch the ship's boats and break yer backs rowin' fer what would be like paradise compared to this rotten old scow.

On the brighter side of the pirate life...
While up in Hollywood on Saturday I noticed quite a few pirates at the intersection of Hollywood and Highland. I guess there was a pirate costume contest for pre launch PR for the new Pirates of the Caribbean movie. I didn't get any pirate pics because I was on a mission of other sorts but this one that I got in the parking lot seems to apply for our recent turn..

If this place is so bad, why are you still here? To stir up shit perhaps? This site is only as bad as WE make it. It's also only as good as we make it. So, you don't think the "ship" can be saved? I disagree. I firmly believe that if we can get rid of some of these trolls and know-it-all windbags this place would start to shape up instantly.
