Won this light through the independence day give away. Thanks again to @ViparSpectra Grower
Nice light so far, have only had it running about a week.
Had started a Cinderella 99 for the outdoor season, put her in the ground and started to train her
C-99 was growing really well and then we got a bit of a hot spell 100F + weather and she took off
Problem was with all the tie downs there was too much stress, she split at the first wye. I tried to pull her back together, but within a few day she was starting to wilt. Decided to take 6 cutting and salvage what I could and all 6 rooted.
Let them grow out another week ended up giving away 2 to a buddy.
Unfortunately I noticed some white spots on a few leaves and sure enough found some spider mites, not exactly shocking as they did come from outdoors.
Got to work quick and sprayed off the plants in the kitchen sink, hit them with some hydrogen peroxide, sprayed off the next day and hit them with Safer's insecticidal soap. Alternated this for a few day and inspected with a digital microscope until there were no more signs. Applied another dose of Safer's and kept an eye out for another week. All seems good, hit her one more time for good measure.
Decided it was time to repot into 3 gal fabric pots, Promix HP some additional lime, Gaia Green general and bloom 70/30. Moved them to the 3 x 3 and fired up the XS2000 set to 50% at 20"
Let them settle in and gradually started turning up the dimmer, got to about 65% after a week and then Super cropped the girls, looking to flatten out and have an even canopy. Currently set to about 70% at 20" and they seem to be happy. Might have mixed the medium a little hot as there is some yellow tipping, but I'll keep an eye out on the new growth and adjust if need be.
Will probably cut off the old damaged leaves once we get some more growth.
I'll probably veg for another week or two and then flip. Still new to growing in a tent with limited space so here's hoping I flip at the right time.
Pretty happy with the light so far, seems to only raise the temp about 4-5F. The heat sink on the light is barely warm at all and the meanwell driver can easily be touched without getting very hot.
Currently running an AC infinity S4 with 4" carbon filter at just under 50% and a 6" clip on fan for circulation.
Any suggestions or input from anyone willing to chime in for some feedback is welcome. Always willing to learn something new.
I will post more as we go along and see what this light can do.
