Y arent my buds swelling?(nycd)

I dont understand whats going on with my plant, its nyc diesel grown under 250 watt hps it went through major stretching and is now 8ft going at the start of the 10th week of flower and the bud are tiny if there at all mostly just long white hairs and small amounts of trichs, what happend to this girl shes right next to another nycd that did pretty good not huge buds but good, why did this one not produce? Any help would b appreciated for future grows

Funny you should post this.I just watched a video on youtube the other day by kbgrowkid420 called nycd harvest and one of his nycds did not produce ,and this guy is an expert..maybe there is just some sucky phenos of nycd..

on a side note ,you prob know this ,but 250 watts is nowhere near enough for an 8 ft tall plant..next time try topping them and tieing down the main shoots to the pot to allow the lower branches to become the same height ,you will have a shorter bushier plant..and will get the best use of that light..ps i use a 250 aswell

Have you given her a shot of nutes like Beastie Bloomz? It's late as far as grow time to nute but what do you have to lose? Nute her, wait a couple days and flush. Then give her more time.

Stop giving it any type of grow nute and give it bloom only, water often, 8 ft should drink a lot in a day.

Also trim any and all fan leaves that look stressed they are wasting energy. Only trim the ugly ones not the good ones and cut them at the leaf not down by the stalk.

Ive given this plant a good amount of nutes , cal mag, silica blast ,pro blend bloom, big bud,cool bloom powder and molassess for late flower stages its just like the buds never grew white hairs only the whole time, i have 2 more in early stages of flower both topped, standing 4 1/2 foot there 3rd week in and have a few hairs poking out its sounding more and more like its the strain the more people i talk to im just confused on y it got so tall and no buds ive keptthe light pretty close the whole grow, i dont get it

Im with SmokeJoint on this one, 250w for an 8' plant is not going to give you the type of buds your looking for. best to keep the plants small when using a smaller HID light unless you can supplement with some side lighting or something.

I tried keeping these ones small put them into flower at a little over a foot and have kept the light right on top of them i understand that 250 watts isnt enough light for my plant but i really didnt think theyd grow that big in a closet

I'd suggest trying Blue Mystic, it's a nice different fruity smoke, the plants don't get super high and they produce a decent amount of bud at the end.

Sounds like a difficult strain/ bad genes to me.

*Edit: Google "NYC Diesel strain reviews" the ones I came across were talking about reaching around 10-12 feet as an outdoor. This is what I read and not from personal experience however. Hope it works out in the end.

It sounds like the "Monster No Calyx Freak Pheno"! Sucks that you had to waste all that time and energy on a freak. Not sure what if any traits would be desirable... Killing it is the only option unless you have the space and want to let it go another 9 weeks it may be a pure sativa.

Ya i agree my light wasnt enough i didnt plan on there hight and im sure if the cieling would be any taller theyd be bigger, they have alot of really skinny 1 finger leaves and alot of fading yellow 1 plant did ok for 11 weeks and the other im just going to try and make hash with, ill have to see how the smoke is, on to the next round thanks everyone
