Yellow/Brown dying fan leaves week 4-5 flower

Got 2 sativas outdoors and they're doing great. buds are nice and are begining to frost up. all the big fan leaves have gone yellow/brown and are drying up/dying. i've already lost a good 20-30%.

i've heard this is normal, but i might be underfeeding. i have jacks blossom boost 10-20-30 i've been giving them a full gallon dose every 5-7 days. should i up the dose and be giving them more? They are about 5 ft in height. Do they need more? Maybe 2-3 gallons every week?

Any help appreciated...

I use jacks classic blossum booster as well, but I give them about 1 teaspoon daily which seems to be working very well. Sativas should not start yellowing until AT LEAST week 7 for he most part depending on how strong the sativa influence is.

I'm going to up to 2 - 2 1/2 tbs a week. Any other thoughts on what could be causing this? The leaves are going lime green, then yellow and browning. They must need more food. Should I throw some big bloom in or should a good dose of jack's 10-30-20 be fine?

Water your plants with a gallon of straight water first, to moisten the soil, then feed your fertilizer solution (at the new, stronger mixing strength). It will prevent nute burn, and help prevent shocking your plants. Yellowing fans is normal towards the end, but you don't want to go yellow too soon. I use Cal-Mag to keep my outdoor ladies green, up to week 6 on 8 week flowering plants, up to 7 weeks on 9 to 10 week flowering plants.

I have epsom salt maybe I should water with a gallon of water with a couple tbs of epsom salt, then water with the stronger mix?

So i tested the ph its about right i believe, around 6.5-7 but its hard to tell with the liquid powder test.

I fed them 1 1/2 tbs each. Going to see how it goes, hopefully pick up cal mag... hopefully its not locked out.. how do you stop nute lock with ground plants just water with reg water first?

cant help you if you can give us more information of your set up grow and you happen to know name of this sativa strains ? you re growing in the holes or pots ? what kind of soil you re using ?

it will good ideal to feed your sativa long flowering plants with any VEG nutirent like JC's 20-20-20 and i dont believe in booster bloom anymore because thats what cause leaves become yellow and dropping , leading to low yield.

many factor of problem like PH, missing out cal-mag, overwater, underwater, pests on the rooting system etc.

try to figure it out, buddy

I appreciate the detailed response. Im outside in holes, using a mix of happy frog soil and the local soil. I am going to get cal mag as it seems the most common answer. And not sure its bagseed but def sativa.. i dont think its roots or anything but do you think it would be smart to add actinovate if it doesnt get better with added cal mag? Im looking and i dont think its gotten any better... maybe i need to give plain water again, then add cal mag and see if that helps

^^ yes she just needs some Cal-Mag. The Cal-Mag will help without slowing down her flowering, and the magnesium, which is real important during flowering, keeps the chlorophyll levels right. How does she smell ?
