Same thing I'm dealing with. Thirps.

Make sure you spray the underside of the leaves. Spend a good hour inspecting every inch of your plant kill on sight.

Will spraying them with the Dawn, compromise growing organically since dawn technically has chemicals? If SO what is the best way to rid them if you're trying to stay organic?
A lot of organic diy recipes call for mild dish soap. Don't use any that have bleach or degreasers. You're shooting for a 1-2% or so mix, so only a few drops. If you're making your own spray, you can add a little bit of oil, to make it adhere longer, apple cider vinegar to deal with powdery mildew (my current problem, one of my outdoor gals was too close to an infested squash plant), garlic or hot pepper juice to keep pests away, and I've seen some call for small amounts of hydrogen peroxide.

With all of those, I'd start with smaller amounts, some of them like vinegar can burn your plants if applied in too large a measure. I used 2 tsp per quart of water to treat, and in two days I'm not seeing any damage, I also made sure to apply on a cloudy day, if you're growing indoors, you may want to apply right before night, application of sulfers and acids during intense light leads to burning, in my experience. You can google organic homemade insecticidal soaps for more recipes than you want, though most are pretty similar.

If it's thrips, Spinosad is an organic remedy. As others said, you want to be aggressive treating those.
