Yellow Spots!

It's getting worse! After more research with the leaves curling up, from the bottom leaves to the top leaves, I think it could be lights too close or magnesium. I moved the lights up, I think I'll give some epsom salts for good measure too. The real question is what's the right amount of epsom salt to add in a hydro system? Should I pluck off those leaves?

no leave the leafs on and check your ph, are you giving it nutes right now?

I'm using a pH test kit for a fish tank where you match the colours. I think it's about 6.1, possibly a little lower.
I bought the nutes from a head shop that has a garden section, so it's supposed to good for weed. I've been using at a quarter of the recommended strength since day 1. I've changed the water in the reservoir once since I planted it, and put in the same amount of nutes and pH down.
The only difference between the original water and the new water is the original water was sitting out to de-chlorinate for several days in the reservoir before I added the plant, the new water, I only had enough storage containers for half the amount to sit out de-chlorinating, the other half came directly from the tap.

Don't start throwing shit at it to see what sticks, a baby plant usually doesn't have def. except light, in most cases.... I've not done hydro but 6.1 seems high..I seem to remember a lower PH for hydro then soil, 5.8 area..check FAQ..its there..
I also don't nute till about a month in, then at 1/4 strength..

you've overdosed it on nutes even though it was a quater strength.
your supposed start it n quarter strength nutes when its 3 weeks old, and 10x bigger than a 2 day baby plant.
so when you think about it, if you gave a plant less than half the size of a 3 weeker, your really been giving your plant 2 or 3 times the reccomended dosage.

I guess what's done is done for the early stages, it's three weeks old now and the spots are spreading up the plant. I'm afraid it's going to consume all the new growth because it looks noticeably yellower in the inter-veinal areas on the newest leaves, if you compare the pictures from 4 days ago, which was the first symptom on the older leaves that are going.
Ahhh!!! It's really hard to sit back and do nothing. I'm guessing at the pH because I have a cheap testing kit, so all I can say for certain is it's below 6.2, which is the limit on the tester. It may be time to invest in a digital pH tester.

hi can anyone please help me too. I have brown spots appearing since i added a light could this be overheating or a defieciency. I am three weeks in to flowering. thanks

I'm in the same boat as you are, my pH was too high and started locking out nutes...even though I wasn't even adding any I was already phosphorous and calcium deficient. But here's a bit of advice. If you have to change your pH don't try to change it by so much in such a short amount of time. Pretty much everything I've read on this subject says for soil you should only try to lower it 0.1 every two days, and hydro no more than 0.2 per day. Anything more than that could be more harmful than good. I'm just a newb though, and this is just stuff I've read. I've successfully lowered my pH and my plants look none the worse by using this method. G/L.
