Yellowing, falling off, WTF is the Issue? What to Do?

This started a week+ ago. They were healthy and green, then over the course of the last week+ the leaves are yellow, tips burned, everything is falling off. I tried to flush but I am doing a closet grow, so the pots are solid bottom as any runoff would go on the rug floor. I think I may have gone overboard on that, so for the last 4 days I didn't give any water until the meter said DRY. Then I only gave them 8 oz water. But I am getting worried now.
Should I transplant into bigger (deeper) pots?
I would get a drip tray and allow them to drain IF I could find the right size, would have to be 30" wide and 50" long MAX.

Using Scotts Moisture Advantage soil, feeds for up to 4 mos, Jacks Classic Dynamic Duo. Had been feeding 1/2 strength but now I'm thinking that was too much given the soil has nutes in it.

Please assist. I don't want to lose then now, 26 days into BLOOM.

Man you got hell of problems. For one you need holes in the bottoms so buy treys to catch the water. Also why would you be using a time release soil and feeding nutrients at the same time? You need to flush them and get holes in the containers to check run off.

Like Phish says, get some holes in the bottom. You can go to home depot and get the individual drip trays. Get some air to them roots.
Then get some soil with no added nutes. Like at your local nursery or garden center. They'll usually have a "house blend" potting soil. Transplant the girls, then flush what nutes are left in the rootball out. Start over feeding 1/4 strength or 1/2 strength nutes again in about a couple two or three days.
How far along in flower are they? Could be some of that is normal abcission.

Yeah even in a closet grow look for containers that have some sort of run off catcher or something, I'm guessing off hand you have root rot going on and the soil is way too damp. Those leaves aren't getting jack for nourishment, either your roots are rotted or your ph is out of whack and you're root locked. I would say flush it like Phish said but you have no drainaige so, flushing would be pointless. Go to walmart and get one of those "water from the bottom" pots or some of the ones with the drainage plate, put a towel or something down, garbage bag, whatever, you have a ton of nutes in there and a ton of water cespooling at the bottom. Can you take a close up pic of the bottom of the stem?

word, you need drainage wholes, just drill some...put down some towels to catch any water, thats what i did....but, dont repot now, would be counter productive..and that plant looks starving, for just about every nuitrien i can think of....looks like you might have a early harvest:leaf:

Also get a spray bottle and put nutes in it and try to foliar feed it. Spray the whole plant down, that might buy you an extra week.

They have been in Bloom for 26 days.

I did a soil test, adequate nitrogen. pH seems fine as well @ 6.3.

Water gauge said "wet" 2 days ago, now says "dry". That's when I added 8 oz water.

I will go to Wal-Mart and try to find something with a drip tray. I haven't found any standalone drip trays, which is what I would really like to have. But they are in 12" pots now, the only thing I see with drip saucers included are much smaller. I'll try Home Depot as well.

Go to the garden section at either Home Depot or Lowes. They sell cheap drip pans. They're ugly as all hell, but they work. About $2 ea for 24" pans.

Thanks for the tip. Heck, it's the closet, no need to be pretty.

I've been looking in the Garden section. Maybe I looked right past them.

They're seasonal, and kinda hard to find. Ask for help. (If you can find an employee, that is. Thats the part I hate about Lowes and HD)

Take a 10 gallon garbage bag, duct tape the top of it kind of like, around the top of the bag making sort of a lip. Then you will have a circle with a bag under it. Then you can take 4 bricks, pieces of wood, midgets, books, whatever, and prop the thing up under the pot, then use the duct tape roll itself to put the pot on, so it'll drain right, and you're good to go. Macguyver to the rescue.

I took it out and took a couple pix of the root ball. There was NO excess moisture. I see no root rot, they all seem healthy and white. There aren't any roots circling either.

The bottom of the stem seems healthy as well.

pH was just tested after watering - 6.6.

I used a soil test kit last Sunday and Nitrogen was Adequate.

The stams of this plant - some are green but some are reddish. You can see that in my initial post, 2nd photo.

Yo.

Do this and you will be ok.

First, flush your shit with 3x the water of your containers.

Then, mix up a high N nutrient. Give it a full strength watering.

Continue as necessary. Five days from now you will be looking much better.

Peace,

K

I posted #12 as #13 was posted. Again, Nitrogen was tested as adequate. Could this be simple nute burn? See pic #1 in original post.

No it's not nute burn.

Listen to your plant it is screaming for NITROGEN. I believe this has been mentioned previously.

Flush and feed

If nobody has said this yet, I'll go ahead and tell ya.

You made the #1 NOOBIE mistake.. that is made by many noobies.

No matter the situation, you never, NEVER EVER... use a growing container that doesn't have any kind of drainage holes for excess runoff. That's like putting the nail in the coffin you know?

Anyhow, that's more than likely the main cause of your current problems/issues that your having with your grow.

What you should have done, is used a rubbermaid storage bin... like a medium sized, so that its big enough to where you can fit the entire plant/pot inside the rubbermaid container.. that way you don't have to worry about the runoff going onto your floors.. as the rubbermaid container will catch the excess runoff.

Not bashing you here.. just trying to help educate. ;) So again, I would transfer your plant into a pot with drain holes... and find yourself a large enough container to place your plant in.. in order to catch the excess drainage/runoff.

Good luck

peace.

i don't know where all these guys are getting root rot.. the roots look fine..your plant needs some food..i would give it something around 3-8-5 ..holes in the pot help..but if you do not over water you are ok as is..by keeping the ph as you are you should not have too much build up...good luck

He might have enough N in the soil, but the plant is unable to take it up because of PH being so far out of wack. 8 OZ's of water for that size of pot is not shit. I went to the Dollar Store and bought 16"x16"x10" deep black plastic tubs to catch the run off of my plants. I then took 1"x2"x96" wood sticks and cut them down to length to fit inside. I then cut slots in them so they would fit together like a tic-tac-toe game looking kind of thing. I then place my pots on top of these to keep them up off the bottom by about 1 1/2". When I give my plants a heavy flush I use a small shop vac to remove the extra water. This has been working great for me.

Stop watering them so often so with so little, and start watering them with way more volume of water less often. Would be a good idea to give them a heavy watering take the ruin off and mix it, then take a sample from the middle depth and check the PH. I bet it is way high because of all the salt build up.

There was a concern they were soaked, so I gave them 8 oz, but it turns out there was no excess water. I just gave them 16 oz. I was giving them 32 oz every few days.

I am going to get something to catch the run off. These pots have knock outs in them so I can do that.

"Take the run off and mix it". I'm not understanding that, can you explain?

Those roots look good... Nice and white... I still say you need to get pots with holes or even since you have it out cut holes in the bottom. Then flush, and come back with some N and you should be fine. I even went back to my bible to read over some stuff. And i can Say at 99% this is your problem.
