Yellowing From the Bottom

Hey all. My plants are about four week into vegging and the bottom two leaves are starting to yellow. Basically they are completely yellow and looking about ready to be completely dead. The ones above them are also turning light green with brown on one of the leaves around the edge. What is the problem? I havent added any nutes yet. Is it time to start adding some Fox Farms Big Grow right about now? I am using Pro-Mix soil with 40% Perlite. I dont know the pH and temp is around 78 degrees and 45% humidity.:joint::peace::blsmoke:

This happened to me in my grow, and I am pretty sure that either A: they are supposed to die like the two starter leaves but no one has confirmed that in my journal or B: because I had a little ph fluctuation/a little nute burn.

I would like to know the answer to that as well. You should really get a ph meter though. It helps a lot. And I would say you can definitely start fox farms. My plants are a little over a month and I added some about a week or two ago. I had a small nute burn but I believed I used almost the full recommended dose, so I would step it down a little from that. I am growing WW.

Goodluck and I will check back. Here is what mine looked like. They are worse now...

Any updates on this? Has it progressed at all? If mine is, it's very slow.

Anyone have a clue what could cause this. I have looked in the GROW FAQ but didn't spot anything.

well i went and bought some nutrients from the store. i didnt get the fox farms shit but i went and got some organic food anyhow from the local hardware giant. i got some organic blood meal and another nutrient that had micronutrients as well as a 20-10-15 NPK. i made a weak blend of the 20-10-15 stuff and sprinkled about a teaspoon of blood meal which is 12-0-0 onto the top of the soil. then i put about a half gallon of water through it and let it go. i plan to add another half gallon of water tomorrow to wash the nutrients through the soil some more. im going to add nutes about once every 7-10 days but keep them very light. i noticed that they have stopped getting worse, but the leaves that have turned yellow are pretty much the same. so perhaps i stopped the degradation and maybe they will start to improve. i should note however that they grew over an INCH in one day after I added the nutes. and this is under flouros!!! an inch is sweet since they are already 10-11 inches tall right now. so i am thinking it was a nitrogen deficiency and i got it maybe a day or three late. but they are looking good right now and growing healthy. ill see what happens when i add some more water later tomorrow. probably add more nutes sunday.

just checked and they have grown another inch one three of my plants. one of my plants is very short still, about eight inches, while the others are between 10-13 inches. the yellowing has stopped and finally those leaves that were yellow have started to regain their green color, however pale at the moment. i got some brown spots here and there but they occured before the nutes so i do not suspect nutrient burning. no new ones have popped up. so it looks like yellowing of the bottom leaves is caused by nitrogen and other essential mineral deficiencies. so get some blood meal and get that N up.
