Noticed the plants looking a bit yellowish about 3am, woke hubby up and he agreed after seeing them. They needed water so we watered them and now 24 hrs later, they still look yellowish. They are about 47 days old, 23 days into flowering. Going by "Buds for Less by See More Buds" it says that by Day 44 "The first set of fan leaves has turned completely yellow, with the second set not far behind. This can be troubling for new growers, but there is nothing to worry about. This yellowing is very normal and expected from a plant 29 days into flowering."
Ok, we are newbies at this, but we aren't positive which ones are the fan leaves. Look at our pic and tell us if we have a problem.....PLEASE!!!!!

if its all your lower leaves it might be nute defect lack of magnesium, and nitrogen maybe i had this problem with my lower leaves this might help something with high nitro like 29-15-15 etc...

Are you using MG potting soil per the book? If so, it is not likely a nute problem. I've been looking at plants that are close to the same age as yours. Most of them show yellowing at the bottom fan leaves. You do seem to have a little yellowing on some of the upper leaves. What is the pH of your soil? Are you pH'ing your water in accordance with the soil's pH? One more question; are you using tap water or some sort of filtered/distilled/spring water. I had a problem with my tap water causing a salt build up that adversely affected my pH. All in all it looks pretty good.

Ph the water and only feed them water and Superthrive(1/4 strength) for the next couple of watering..Mine did this and I had to flush the roots becuase of PH lockup...

poppinsmokey: Yes, we are using MG. Soil has been testing at 7, so we have been lowering the ph of the water we are putting through our Britta down to 6. Should we go buy some bottled water and flush it when we water again? If so, which is better? Distilled or spring? Than you sooo much for your help!!! We watched your grow and are very impressed!:blsmoke:

Be careful...those soil pH meters are not all that accurate...especially if its the $15-20 ones that you stick in the soil. They always register around 7'ish. You could be adversely lowering your pH. The soil moisture meters are not bad...but the pH ones leave a bit to be desired.

Thats fine for the fan leaves to turn yellow its pulling nutes from itself to flower. Mine do this when flowering. I have pics to show if ya need them. We simply wait until they fall off then discard them. Hope this helps

Mitsu racerX: Your plant looks much bigger and farther along than ours. Was it CFL grown? Hey, PM us again. My husband canceled it not realizing what it was...
Tanuvan: How do we check the soil's ph? (And actually get an acurate reading?)

If ya flush the soil the nutes will leave and you will need to start over..After flushing just use water and superthrive the next couple of waterings...Then go back to the nutes..By the way what nutes are u using??

Oh shit! We flushed the soil about 3-4 weeks ago. Aren't using any nutes cause we are going by the book "Buds for Less" and used MG. But it doesn't say anything about flushing the soil. We didn't even think about the fact that we would be flushing away the nutes already in the soil too. Crap, crap, crap. Superthrive huh? Probably won't have to water again for at least 4-5 days. Should we just go ahead and water anyway to get some nutes to the plants?

On Day 40 now and thanks to Mitsu racerX we have realized we stupidly (silly stoners:mrgreen:) flushed away the nutes that were in the MG soil. Here's more pics. The leaves continue to yellow, but the buds are still growing nicely. We have also noticed the plants stopped growing up and out, but thought that was just cause they're putting all their energy into the buds now. Is that part of the nute loss?

No worries, the plants looks good...MG is not a very good soil to use. If its time released don't use it. Get a soil with low numbers and add ur own nutes,..We use all Expert soil and nutes which can be bought in Walmart...
Ya'll want a pic here ya go..
