pretty sure those cant grow weed. its not an hps or mh light, dont bother. anyways it costs about as much as a 400w hps/mh on ebay.

the 50watt HID wouldnt be good at all? How many do i need to grow really good bud....but only 1-2 plants at a time. (personal use)

i would strongly advice against buying that light. its not made for growing, its not going to produce the right spectrum and it will be too hot. if i were you i could do either t5 floros or cfls(you can get 42watts at homedepot 2 for like $3). you wont get the best density in your buds and it wont be the most bud you can get from a plant. but you can def grow some quality weed and if you had 2 rooms or felt like seperating your current grow room, you can easily do a perpetual harvest. just look at the growfaq or in the grow room setups or one of filthyfletchs DIY things, and just make it on a smaller scale.

the cheapest 400watt hps grow light i know of is High Tech Garden Supply . pretty much the staple of any budget flowering room light. i use one and my only complaint thus far is that i wish i got a 600watt. id say its overkill for a 1 plant grow. i wouldnt grow any less than 6 plants with this.

alright man thanks. What do you estimate the yield might be.

There's a lot of variables to that question- strain? how long do you plan on vegging? nutrients? and so on...so it really depends. I read that yield seems to increase as you gain experience after each grow....

if youre using soil, 1 gallon pots or bigger, 6 plants or under, and you keep them healthy i would say at least half an ounce per plant for your first grow with that light. you can veg under this light also but its not ideal. you will def want to use some other light for seedlings. like cfl or floros, and veg under cfl/floros if you can.

150W HPS from a garden supply company is a good upgrade to start with over CFLs. For personal stash grows its all you need. Easier on the electric bill, less conspicuous, less heat, cheaper bulbs, less initial cost than a 250 or 400W. Still it gives you the spectral and lumens per watt advantage over CFLs. In the future you can always go bigger if you feel the 150 is lacking. But for 1-2 plants the highest you would want would be 250.:joint::joint::joint:
