yield from lights

hi everyone just wondering , if you have 2 600w lights in a tent designed for just 2 lights so cover all areas . the would it matter how many plants u had in there as long as they are all getting full light ? is there certain energy that comes from the lights that only preduces a certain amount of yield or as long as they get full light they are ok? would appreciate anyone trying to help thanks.:leaf:

However many you can fit in the footprint of your light. Could be one huge one, or 30 in a SOG style.

the problem is , if i have 20 under 2 lights, will them 2 lights only produce the same yield even if light reaches every part of every plant, as the 2 lights would pruduce from ten plants . for instance if i have ten plants an got 2.5 ounces, if i repeated with 20 in , would i only get 1.25 per plant. i know it depends on many things but just for an idea . because from an amateurs point of view shouldnt it just depend if the light can reach every part of plant?

if you maintain your plants properly and feed them well and have no problems either way you will get around about the same yeild if you have 10 plants the next time veg them longer and top/fim/lst or do what ever you want think of it as this you can veg one big plant and get it to cover the same area as 30 small plants and it will yeild around the sme amount as the 30 small plants in some cases smaller or even bigger

If the plant size is the same, you will get 2x more bud with 20 plants vs 10. However it's usually assumed that with less plants you grow each plant bigger before flowering, so each plant ends up producing more, and in the end your yield could be the same. It really depends on how you grow them.

thanks a lot , i was thinking if i took half out at 5 weeks flowering and put them in there own tent it might help or maybe adding one more 600w to the first room ,maybe one of these might be the answer .

recommended for lights is every 8 months unless you have the super lighting ability on your ballasts which produced something like 10% more like at 10-15% more energy.
turn on super lighting mode after 8 months and your shelf life of your lights will go up to 14months.
from my experience you can get 16-18months out of a light if you turn on super lighting after a years time.
and your yields will vary, im a fan of medium sized plants i grow 4-5 under a 400w hps averaging 3-6oz depending on genetics and blah blah blah
both large(4.5-6.5ft canopy) and small(1.5ft canopy and below) have a lot of varying conditions + effort, but if your going to pick between large and small go with a perpetual lollipop grow it's the easiest way to produce a large quick steady harvest.
