Yield in a crowded room with not enough light vs Yield 12/12 from seed.

So the question is this. I want to grow mainly Sativas under 1 x 300 watt Mars Hydro (actual draw: 180w)
I want to grow 4 of them.

What yield would be greater in the following 3 scenarios:

1) Growing the 4 of them under that light with 3 weeks vegetation then 12/12 and let them stretch and fight for light

2) 12/12 from seed so they will remain small and easier to be under the light's coverage

3) 3 weeks veg then switch to 12/12 and just cut them a lot to keep them shorter.

Please don't say "just buy a new light"

Run them veg. to 8 inch's and start the 12/12. Don't be afraid to super crop to keep them shorter for better yield quality...and start looking at a new light...

Believe it or not, your answer is one of the best I've received, because I do want to buy a new light, it's just that I want to do that next year since I don't know if I will stay in this city.
