yielding techniques

alright this past summer I grew 16 plants yielding about 4 1/4 pounds. I started them indoors in march and put them outside in early may. most of them grew over 6ft tall, not bad for 4th generation clones of Kush. I was wondering if anyone new any techniques for increasing yield. I want to go a little bigger this year but carrying gallons upon gallons of water into the meadow last summer got old real fast. is their anthing i can do increases yield besides finding high yielding strains?

you can tie down branches and they will start growing out andnew branches form at the nodes

once they look a little stretched dont top, tie down so all sides begin to bulk out, that way your getting full length and not giving stress by cutting its fan leafs off which supply most sugars and amino acids for photosynthesis.
