Do you clean up those twisty bunched up growth leaves? I let one go for a longtime (vegged for a year, so it must have revegged many times), it was huge, bunched up leaves packed through out..didnt produce for shit because of the packed leaves I think (outdoors).
That was a backup clone sort of, wasn't happy with the cutting I took early from that plant. I would have vegged it pretty much like a seedling till it would had normal branches to use as cuttings. None of the those first leaves would still be on it by the time it flowers. So yes, I clean up late clones a lot.
I had some recently flower in veg ( I cut some clones after throwing into flower, derp), so in reveg mode they got the same way, I ended up clearing out the bs and they are kickin ass and looking normal again.
I usually take cuttings shortly after the switch to flowering, but if you wait long enough you basically get a "monstercrop", which in my case definitely needed a lot of pruning else it would have been a single mass of bud.
6 plants, the one left in front is a monstercrop (basically take clone after branching out during transition, then veg and transition again for double effect). Note the single bladed/leaflet leaves near the bottom, those were from revegging, vegged them out to regular fan leaf size, pruned about half the branches:
Highest yield by far, note the structure on the right, i.e. bottom of plant, not a single stem but started out as a mess, similar to how that mini reveg would grow out.
