young'un problems! red stems/stalks, brown spots

i've got some 3 week olds that are starting to get a dark red tint to their stems and stalk. is this normal, a sickness, or just a funky strain? also, the first set of real leaves on all of the plants got brown spots, but no other leaves. i just figured it was normal since i read about it here alot, and left it alon. seems to be fine. am i right or is this something more serious? i started GH flora series last week, and have had nothing but growth and the red tint since. oh yeah, and the nute mix is dark red/maroon. another possible culprit.

anyone have any ideas?
