Did you know at least over 96% of congress is religious? And that 88% is Christian?



Do not despair, even though that would be a natural response under such circumstances, there is hope.

There is 1 Unaffiliated, 1 who put her hand on the Constitution rather than a bible or other religious books, 1 atheist, 1 beautiful bixsexual centrist woman whose ancestors lived in the same region as mine. So you know it’s good stuff :lol:

I'd be willing to bet over 50% aren't all that religious. Maybe 75%.

Maybe they're scared to say that when you're dead, you're dead. Or to run for office as an athiest.

Religion is based on living forever. That worked better 1000 and 2000 years ago.

I believe in science, despite it's lack of a happy ending.

You want immortality?

Have children. That's your best bet.

Or it is politically expedient and btw do you have any outrage for the Christians who view "fostering children " as a for profit business?

I’m ok with that as long as it’s done through respectable venues like pizza restaurants. :-?

My beef with christianity is that it’s inherently anti-intellectual, it requires suppressing integrity. People thinking they have the right to their own facts rather than just their generally uninformed opinions, is a result of that. Prevalent not just in the south but also among the calvinism-based christians in the north east and even atheists. It’s a disease with a good chance it will end up destroying the planet. Especially with a congress where christians are overrepresented. They should at the very very least be frowned up.

Politicians who claim to believe the bible is god’s word should be forced to read it out loud, and say “I believe this to be divine truth” every few sentences. It’s too vile and absurd to do that with a straight face.
