YOUTUBE VIDS of OUTDOOR 'PERFECT GLOBE SHAPED' PLANTS....???

I've just been amazed by the sight of some outdoor gardens, on YouTube vids.
A few are by an OMMP grower (pretty sure it's Oregon Medical Marijuana P-something....)
called JAMS FRANKLIN.
His plants appear like spheres - globes - NOT APICAL (Xmas tree shaped)

And there is another vid that has a much bigger garden with some ENORMOUS GLOBE SHAPED PLANTS.
Just one of his plants is drinking 7 or 8 GALLONS of water, daily
and it's main stem looks more like an old tree trunk!

but I am certain that most RIU people will already have watched it.

And my question is::

How do they make plants grow that shape...????????

Topping. I do it every full moon during veg. Also good sun, food, genetics, and skill don't hurt.

My Anesthesia grew like that. No topping. More of a round ball than a typical christmas tree. Outdoors etc.
