Yeah real quick, that's why I don't use it. I put to much (didn't know it used a ratio from here) and the roots would not touch the water and ended up losing the plant
they been getting it for 2 weeks and they not dead, so it must be OK. Yes smells like a pool a bit when I put it in.
Yeah right i don't get it. I'm in UK so no pool shock and any hot tub cleaner pool cleaner had other ingredients so I found this just calcium hypochlorite, but yeah that range hey, weird.

I know some have great results using chlorine and running sterile but I've had better luck with GFF (98.85% Bacillus amyloliquefaciens) in DWC.

Wow that's nice, how long did that take to grow those? Is that a product or just 98.85 Bacillus amyloliquefaciens? Do you have to keep the temps down using that as well? How much how often?

Yeah it's garden friendly fungicide from souther agricultural you can get away with a little higher temps with it
It's my first time I just read too much about people having problems in the reservoir so I was just like no sterile.
What's GFF?
So using Bacillus amyloliquefaciens also prevents reservoir problems?

The pictures I posted above were after a bout with pythium. I chopped all the roots with a pair of scissors from both plants.
One plant got ~4ppm free chlorine, the other a heavy dose of GFF
The GFF plant recovered much more quickly
A sample size of one isn't very meaningful, but it was clear that bennies worked better in my circumstance
Ah gff got it. So the 98.85 %Bacillus amyloliquefaciens is from a certain company, southern agriculture?
Wow that's very different results sample size of 1 or not. Good stuff I think I'll try that. Is it available anywhere as just the Bacillus amyloliquefaciens or does it need to come from that company as a product ?

It's like hydroguard but like a million times more colonies for way cheaper
Nice it's on amazon uk. So everything else is the same-ish? , temps all that, just use this product instead of a sterile res and it most likely will be a better result? Does this stuff do the same as a sterile res but in a different way? Fight any pathogens that would cause problems?

It's the opposite approach to using chlorine
Sterile: kill the harmful (and everything else)
Bennies: out-compete the harmful with beneficial
