just covering both bases. lol.

how much is your EC dropping daily now?
Tiny bits like 10 or 20 points, so 630 to 610,then the pH up brings it back up to around 630. The one plant that had all the roots from coco is doing well, leaves are straight out, it looks happy, the rest look OK, like they not thriving but they're OK as well, not dieing or anything. I'm thinking it was the excessive calcium hypochlorite dosage that stopped the root growth, what else could have done that? If any ideas I'd like to hear them. Thanks everyone.

i would drop your EC a bit lower. make up a fresh batch of nutes at like 0.4 EC you should see more of a drop than just how much your pH up adds to it. then post up your numbers for the next 3 days or so

are you using the GFF yet?

No gff yet, I was waiting to see if they responded to no more calcium hypochlorite and the lowered ec. I may get some though, looks to be a helpful additive. Do you need to do regular res changes with gff? If so how often?

Ec dropped 100 points today but still zero fucking root growth. I haven't put any calcium hypochlorite in the res in like 5 days, it would be inert in 3 or so wouldn't it? I suppose would take more time to respond to not being there. And I guess that might depend on the amount I put in, it was probably double and a bit what I should have used, so around 0.35 grams for 36 litres of water, the active chlorine was a range of 26 - 32 %.

I would consider popping some seeds while you tackle your current issue, you'll likely be further ahead in a month with a healthy start.

Your plants may recover quickly, or might be stunted for longer than it's worth.

Buddy I was thinking the exact same thing. Was at the local store on sat but they needed to order what I wanted, am going back today.

I have a question, if I keep the res temps low, between 17 and 18 Celsius, would there still be a chance of root rot probs? Would I need to add anything to keep bad stuff away if I kept the temps down?

Im starting to see some small new roots at the top of the net pot. I think my water was too high, among other things I did wrong too, I've lowered it, I've also changed out the res water, ec was 400 with pH down added, and no calcium hypochlorite.

2" or so below net pot even with no roots coming thru. Your air stone will make micro bubbles that pop keep hydroton moist

Oh right. And temps and /or oxygen levels aren't what creates the environment it likes?

Thanks for the help.
Yeah you wanna keep cool clean water. Don't wear the same clothes that you had on out in the yard. Keep your hands out of the water. I have dishwashers gloves lol.get gff and don't look back
