just wanted to let everyone know that those roots are growing long like that in just tap water

i do have hard water so ppm is like 300-400 ....but no nutes ....i was just letting them establish roots first

so technically they just still rooting ...i do remember asking many questions about the rules

i and was to believe it was basically .......root your clones then go straight to bloom ...with no veg cycle

...anyways im sure it will be fun to see what evrybody comes up with in the end ....so we can see who can stack on the greatest weight ....

o and i know for a fact these will be ripe when i pluck em ..weight will be the judge ..... cause i have grown this strain out for like 18 months and it hardens up way good by week 8

its northern lights by nirvana

lol its funny tho everybody that entered basically doesnt have any competition ....i think i have one other in 1000 watt class headbandrocker

so gypsy you prlly will win your cup ............i think your being modest anyway ive seen your pics ...very nice work with ebb and flow and hydroton pebbles

and onthedl you do aeroponic totes right ...good kung fu

well i will post pics of my entry goin into bloom within 1 -2 days

I thought this was no veg. A couple of days after I saw roots I moved them to 12/12. I'm growing in small cups and my babies are SMALLLLL. I plan to re-pot into 2-liter bottles after the clones and root balls fill up.

I'm competing in 400W with a chemdawg D, sour diesel, and ortega. I have no chance of winning anything, but heck, I want to flower some clones.

haha
my clones never saw the veg cycle either... i had some ripening plants in my box n some clones sitting in a tray just waiting for space!
i had about 30 clones all together, so i chose the nicest 6 and put the rest outdoors..but the damn slugs got to them!!!
i feel like a bad dad now..
so in my box now i have 12 slots... 6 for the comp clones n 6 for whatever..this is my first time actually cloning, so i want to compare my shit n see how much work i need..
pics up in a bit!

oh n i noticed something with my clones...most of them didnt root at the cut site...
in fact, alot of my clones root around an inch above the end where the nodes were!
any explanations?!?!

i dont really know whats up with that scientifically ...but i have seen roots form like that many times

basically just as long as you are forming roots its a good thing

just want all you to know that my clone entry is not vegging ......in fact i might just pull out the ruler agin to show you all that it is still 5 inches tall

all that im really did was grow out roots longer ......no nutes at all .....none

if you kept your clones in your cloning machine for an extra week "is that vegging" i think not .....i see this mainly cause i dint use nutes

altho some opinions may differ

lol how can a plant veg (grow) with no nutes ....i would like to know that one

anyways i like to know how everyone does in this comp

I don't think nutes have anything to do with it...

I have vegged and flowered with straight tap water before... zero nutes the whole cycle...

It was shit for harvest, but it did veg and flower... without nutes...

Just cause a plant is weak, it does not mean it is not growing, even if slowly...

I hope you are not defending against me... I said I didn't mind..

It's just for fun bro...:eyesmoke:

Bro, you don't have to...

It's all right... I've said I don't mind...

I'm just bored ...

Didn't mean to hammer on you... or to get you out of the competition...

Forget what I said... please... sorry..

lol i think i might have misinterpreted deweys post regarding my question ......its kinda fuzzy really

hellya if anyone should be able to do that it shoulld be you dewey you are the head cheese of the contest

....o one more question ......i posted earlier but might have been overlooked .....

do we have to bloom as soon as we see prolific roots ?

or do we just plain got 12 weeks to show what we got ?

reason i am askin is cause i root prolifically in like 2 weeks and i would only need 10 weeks total if i was doin ...no veg
12 weeks is 12 weeks. If it takes you 2 weeks to show roots, you have 10 weeks left! 12 weeks from May 31 you have to chop. So its the final product with the heaviest weight!

lol ok what my brain heard was just the orange part ....im such a stoner ......and what is dewey sayin that you put right into bloom after roots is in green

i was misunderstood .........is it cool tho if continue to compete

i will post that i "vegged" for an additional week with no nutes for root growth

sorry i botched that one guys

lol right on gypsy ty bro

hehe i was scared i tells ya .......scared to put freshly rooted in bloom solution ...thought if i gave em some more roots they be ok

altho if i was clear on rules i would not have rooted i would have just threw one in and seen what happens

i think the aero/nft is gonna do well tho i have seen the fastest growth ever from the unit that i just built

They do ok... the worse of it is hand watering until the roots reach the flood level...

I've lost a few that way... the clone just dries out before the roots can reach for the flood...

But I must say I have never had issues that I recognized as being nute related...

All my clones (24 a week) go from nothing (100ppm tap water) to full strength 1400ppm....

wow that is crazy ....u got a little system ther huh heeh ....i seen your pics u got alot of trays setup

nice perpetual .......i will have to experiment more with that.......altho i have seen crazy good results fromthis new system and i am in process of converting entire op to this design

what is cool is the ease of transplanting and all that .....basically i will never have to deal with coir, rockwool, hydroton or pots ...and transplanting .......i think only system that will remain is a bucket system for my main mother ....i dont trust this new system that much yet lol

so mama stock stays in bucket and i will be doin like half and half of rockwool starts and new aeroponic starts

i use to run 2 4x4 tables and 2 3x3 tables .....and 2k watt in bloom

i really do think this is gonna simplify my op so i can start to concentrate on diff nutes and stuff ...u know to find best one

cause i think this gonna be my propagation method .......man it is just too easy

u know what i was just thinkin .....ol dewey has us pretty much beat already with his 1 oz dry weight one he did ...

i plan on watchin this one close ......those plants i seen on both dewey and gypsy looked nice and uniform

...i wonder this tho ....what wattage u use for that clone dewey .....

and you rock 600 watters huh gypsy .......i heard those are most efficient ....but then i heard about light penetration ...and well u know it was enough for me to just stick with my 1000's

i consider myself in training still ....only been growin bout 2 years solid .....and makin all quotas for medicine

like honestly i only been gettin about on average no more than .4 gram per watt

and i want to raise that with new techniques ....and of course you old schoolers out ther

im all self taught really and its been a long hard expensive trip .....

im pretty sure headbandrocker does a type of tote aeroponic .....that is who i get to compete aginst

well im ramblin agin cause im drunk :weed: and stoned heeh

Im pulling myself out of this competiton due to a complete re-organization of the flower pad. Im taking my Clones and making them moms plain and simple. I might keep one or two in competition if thats ok with the others. But there are no others left in my class so the choice is simple for me.
Thanks u GB. Bugs. DK. LB. AL. Sparks. And whoever i may have missed. For all the help thus far that u have given me in my grows.
Peace.

I use an 8 bulb t5 with mixed bulb spectrums until rooted in rw! Then straight to the 600w room with 1400ppm

is taht what you did on thos plants you posted pics of .....if so those are fukin nice and compact and healthy ......

lol seriously tho i dont think i can beat a 1 oz plant hehe

but ill try ....i think this new setup i made will work real nicely

i just built 4 aero/nft setups and all side by side they take up a 5x10ft footprint ...so i got my two 1000 aircooled hps centered over them

i must say it was a big leap ....i have used trays faithfully for like 2 years ...bread and butter

and started bucket tests about 1 year ago

and the buckets are fast .....but nothin like the new setup

i think there is somethin to be looked at when it comes to nft systems ....the ease of never having to deal with pots and medium is priceless also the ph seems to like to stay stable without medium to mess it up

anyways my entry went into bloom last night ...i have it in a real nice area so it will get the best light ...and i hope it will get big ..

lol i just read you use 600 watters also .....dam that is nice results
