they couldent prove guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. the fact is he followed the kid, the kid broke no laws. the kid doesn't have to answer to anybody for walking down the street. the dude brought a gun? why? why did he get out of his truck? and start an altercation.. are you not putting this together? the kid didn't do shit!

the injuries were not consistent with any major whooping, maybe a blow or two and a hard fall to the ground, some tumbling around. witnesses report seeing different people on top at earlier times, and martin on top later on. the fight moved 30-40 feet and past a tree and a sprinkler box, so lots of possibilities abound.
the more you think about it as a juror, it is the verdict that you have to give even if you know beyond any doubt that zimm caused all of it by being a huge dumbass. the law lets you be a gigantic dumbass there and still kill your way out of it for the mere worry of significant injury or death. zimm would be put away for pulling that shit where i live.
the jury that acquitted OJ had jurors that thought he was basically guilty too, they just said the state had not made the case for it.

What is the point in beating this dead horse any further? The facts have been presented in the evidence, and the man was found NOT GUILTY. What could have beens are irrelevant, John guy tried it in his closing statements and it didn't work then and it wont work now. The only evidence to this whole case shows GZ acted in self defense, accept it and move on. He wont be convicted of a civil rights lawsuit either, it holds no ground, they couldn't get one person to testify to zimmerman being a racist. Case closed.
